FIFA 19 Reviews Give New Game Mostly Praise On Official Release Day

The day has finally arrived for EA Sports’ FIFA 19 release. Fans in the United States, United Kingdom, and elsewhere are now beginning to experience the latest title in the franchise. Many of them are taking to Twitter or other social media to express their joy, frustration, or other emotions over this new game. Meanwhile, various media sites are giving their own thoughts. Here’s the latest on what some of the FIFA 19 reviews have to say.

FIFA 19 reviews praise Switch version

The Nintendo Switch is relatively new as a platform. That means this is just the second version of the FIFA game for the console. So far, several reviews have called the new FIFA Switch game an upgrade over the previous installment. For example, Eurogamer calls it “more than just a reskin,” yet also mention it doesn’t quite feel like a “truly new edition of the game.” Still, their review also mentions that Switch gamers get to detach Joy-Cons and take the game to play against friends wherever.

In a different Switch FIFA review on VentureBeat, they say that the FIFA 19 graphics definitely deliver an upgrade over 18. They mention the game feels more like a telecast with its upgraded Premier League-style animations and graphics. VentureBeat also says there is a sharper image compared to FIFA 18. In addition, there is a “more fluid sense of movement” for characters in the game.

Other FIFA 19 reviews for new game

There are plenty of other sites giving their own FIFA 19 reviews, but more for the Xbox, PS4, and PC version. A Kotaku review compares FIFA 19 to PES 2019 to give their opinion of which of these titles is the better game. They say “PES 2019 is fine” but offers very little innovation. They mention that FIFA 2019 may have “delivered what could be a knockout blow” thanks to “more physical play” combined with a great story mode for FIFA players.

Mostly positive reviews are now circulating around the internet (or already were). Metacritic gave the game an 84 percent out of 100. IGN’s 8.2 out of 10 was just slightly below that. Still, an 80 percent or better make it a worthy game for most fans to purchase.

Not every website has had glowing FIFA 19 reviews, though. The GameSpot website gave the game a super low 5.4 out of a possible 10. Fans can check out their full video review for more of their opposing thoughts on why the game may not be as good as others boast it is.

FIFA 19 is currently available for the Microsoft Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Sony PlayStation 4, and PCs everywhere.
