The first of the FIFA 21 Showdown Squad Building Challenges has officially arrived in Ultimate Team. Ahead of an upcoming matchup, gamers can acquire cards for Marcos Acuna or Francis Coquelin. The card for the player on the winning team will get a significant boost in terms of ratings. Here are the latest costs, requirements, and details for the FIFA 21 Showdown SBC players.
Acuna, Coquelin arrive for FIFA 21 Showdown SBC
Coquelin’s Villareal and Acuna’s Sevilla clubs are set for a showdown on December 29. Gamers can now acquire one or both of these players’ new FIFA 21 Showdown SBC items in Ultimate Team. The two players were recently unveiled online through a FUTHEAD tweet (below), and in-game on FIFA’s Ultimate Team mode.
Each player’s SBC is an 85 overall card, for now, with specific key attributes. For example, Acuna has 89 Pace, 88 Dribbling, 85 Physical, 84 Passing, and 81 Defense ratings. He also has four-star Skill Moves, three-star Weak Foot, and High/High Workrates.
Coquelin has 85 Physical, 83 Defense, 83 Dribbling, and 82 Pace attributes. He also has three-star Skill Moves and Weak Foot with Medium/High Workrates.

Requirements and costs to acquire SBCs
Each player’s FIFA 21 Showdown SBC requires putting together two different squads of 11 players each. Each of the squads brings a reward pack. Putting together both of the squads gets the player’s SBC item.
For Marcos Acuna, gamers need to build a La Liga squad and Argentina squad. The La Liga squad needs to have at least one LaLiga Santander player, and at least one In Form player. It also needs a squad rating of at least 83 and a Team Chemistry of 80 or better. The reward is a Small Prime Gold Player’s Pack.
The other squad is an Argentina squad. It needs at least one Argentina player and at least one In Form player. Additionally, it requires a squad rating of 85 and a Team Chemistry of 70. The reward is a Prime Mixed Players Pack.
For Francis Coquelin, gamers need a National Duty and La Liga squad. The National Duty squad requires at least one France player, a minimum squad rating of 84, and a Team Chemistry of 70 or better. The reward is a Jumbo Premium Gold Pack.
For the La Liga squad, gamers need to put together a team with at least one LaLiga Santander player, a minimum 86 rating and a minimum 50 chemistry. The reward is a Rare Mixed Players Pack.
Based on FUTBIN cost estimates, Coquelin will be the pricier of these two SBC items. His SBC will cost approximately 249,00 Coins or more, depending on the platform. As far as Acuna, expect his SBC to cost between 167,000 and 190,000 Coins.
The Showdown feature in Ultimate Team is making its return after appearing in FIFA’s Summer Heat promo. The player from the winning team in their matchup will get a two-point boost for their OVR. If the game is a draw, both players get a one-point bost.
