FIFA 21 Trailer Debuts Featuring Cover Star Kylian Mbappe, FIFA Ambassadors

A day after Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe was revealed as cover star, he popped up in the official FIFA 21 trailer. In addition, this year’s FIFA Ambasaddors joined him for the promotion. The new video puts a spotlight on some of what’s to come from the new game in terms of modes and graphics.

FIFA 21 trailer features Mbappe, other stars around world

With Bobby Sessions’ track Made A Way playing throughout the new FIFA 21 trailer, we get a look at all sorts of footage. As one would expect, the cover athlete Kylian Mbappe is featured quite a bit from start to finish in the new trailer. Real-life footage is also mixed in with game footage, just like the recent EA Sports UFC 4 trailer.

We see players honing their skills in backyards, parks, street courts, and then playing on the real-life pitch. In particular, the VOLTA mode gets quite a bit of spotlight as one of the newer parts of FIFA.

In addition to Mbappe, FIFA Ambassadors Trent Alexander-Arnold, Erling Håland, and João Félix are also featured in various spots. We see some of the new on-pitch celebrations including a seated meditation.

The main theme of the FIFA 21 trailer is “uniting as one” to achieve a common goal. As the YouTube description notes, “Win as One in FIFA 21 with new ways to team up on the street and in the stadium to enjoy even bigger victories together.”

In August, the EA FIFA team will begin to unveil different aspects of the game based on a schedule they revealed (see it below). That should give a deeper look at gameplay, Ultimate Team, VOLTA, and Career Mode among other aspects.

New EA Sports FIFA game details

Mbappe will appear as the cover star for all three editions of the upcoming game. Those are Standard, Champions, and Ultimate editions, which are all available for pre-order now.

Based on features details from EA’s webpage, FIFA 21 will bring back VOLTA Football, Ultimate Team, and Career Mode to the new game. They also promote the authenticity of the game. There will be over 30 official leagues, 700-plus teams, and 17,000-plus authentic players in the new game.

FIFA 21 will release for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows PCs, and Steam. The game has an official release date of Oct. 9, 2020, for the Standard Edition. However, gamers who order Champions or Ultimate Edition will get to start playing three days earlier on Oct. 6, 2020.

A Legacy Edition will be on the way for Nintendo Switch. The game will also release on Google Stadia later this year, as well as for the PS5 and Xbox Series X.

We saw the first PS5 next-gen footage of the game several weeks ago from EA Play. With the next-gen consoles, gamers will be able to upgrade free of charge from the PS4 to PS5, or Xbox One to Xbox Series X version of the game. This is done through the Dual Entitlement upgrade offer.

Check out the official pre-order page for more details on getting the game, Dual Entitlement, and more.
