Snowfight Lets You Fight with Snowballs in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

Since before even the official launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, the new Gunfight mode has been something of an unexpected hit. In a period so defined by battle royale, it seems that plenty of gamers are keen for something totally different. Due to its enduring popularity, Infinity Ward has been keeping the mode fresh with new maps and mode variants, and now, a new holiday variant of the mode is available to play; the Modern Warfare Snowfight mode.

The New Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Snowfight Game Mode

Snowfight, which is currently available to play in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a holiday variant which is very likely to remain playable for a few weeks at most. (Indeed, it might not even last that long, so players should certainly give it a try while they still can.) In a similar manner to Gunfight O.S.P., the Modern Warfare Snowfight mode starts players with no weapons. However, instead of scavenging for guns around the map, players instead pick up snowballs to use as weapons. (Be sure to pick up any you come across, as you can quickly run out.)

Two types of snowballs are available for players to use in Snowfight, each of which can be thrown in a similar manner to throwing a grenade or throwing knife. Standard White Snowballs are your primary weapon. Landing 3-4 hits on an enemy with these should bring them down. However, there are also Yellow Snowballs, which will eliminate an enemy in a single hit.

The new Snowfight mode is only available to play on a single map; the Over Winter map variant of Docks which was recently added as part of Season One. To win Snowfight, you’ll need to be the first to win 6 rounds. Aside from the snowballs, the mode is otherwise similar to standard Gunfight, including its overtime mechanics, so be sure to remember that you need to claim the flag if you don’t eliminate your opponents in time. Snowfight is likely to disappear from Modern Warfare relatively soon, so be sure to check it out while it’s still available.
