Final Fantasy 7 Remake Will Explore Its Characters Deeper Than Ever

Square Enix just released a ton of new details regarding the Final Fantasy 7 Remake. There’s no new trailer or screenshots to be seen but we did get a lot of information that we didn’t know about. The details were dropped during an interview, not at E3 2018 like our interview with the Final Fantasy XIV Producer, but in the latest issue of Famitsu.

Siliconera took the time to translate some of the key points from the Japanese magazine’s interview with Final Fantasy 7 Remake Director Tetsuya Nomura. For starters, the development team is currently attempting to plan when would be the best time to release some more news regarding the game, presumably like a trailer. That doesn’t mean that the game isn’t far enough along at all. In fact, the switch to develop it completely within Square Enix helped production to progress “favorably.”

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Details

Nomura reassures that fans have no reason to worry about the game. Development on Final Fantasy 7 Remake is apparently “moving along more than expected”, according to Nomura. In the meantime, we do know one thing that the remake will do differently than its predecessor. It was already revealed previously that the game could potentially handle the story and characters differently as with the switch to action combat.

It seems that will definitely be the case from Nomura revealed in the interview. The atmosphere of the original game is going to be kept completely intact but the changes come with the characters. Nomura notes that theĀ Final Fantasy 7 Remake will dive deeper into each of the characters in the cast, more so than the original did. This will begin with the members of AVALANCHE.

Whether this could mean more side quests that shed some light on their backstories or whatnot, it remains to be seen. As of right now, we have no release date for the first episode or whatever it will be called for Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Keep it locked here to find out as soon as more info is announced in the near future.
