Already bored of checking out food trucks and investigating Dusty Divot’s meteor? There’s something new for you to check out in Fortnite: the new Limited Time Mode, Solo Showdown. Just revealed today, the Solo Showdown event lets you queue up for a Battle Royale experience that’ll have you on the edge of your seat. Judging by the hype surrounding this one, you won’t want to miss it.
Solo Showdown won’t change how the current Solo mode plays, but will instead place you up against a litany of other “self-selected” teammates, letting you test your wits in the ultimate survival match. The Fortnite team will be keeping an eye out for the best players, and they’ll be taking to the official blog post to keep things updated regularly.
Top performers can rack up a ton of V-Bucks for their time and skills, and the Solo Showdown standings will reflect as such. Here’s what’s up for grabs for talented players:
AWARDS:
- 1st Place: 50,000 V-Bucks
- 2nd – 4th Place: 25,000 V-Bucks
- 5th – 50th Place: 13,500 V-Bucks
- 51st – 100th Place: 7,500 V-Bucks
All 50 first matches you take part in during the Solo Showdown event will count toward your final score, but you’ll want to check out the entirety of the rules before participating if that’s something you’re interested in trying out. According to Epic Games, the company will utilize the Solo Showdown as a stepping stone to building “great events” for all types of players.
If you play 50 games and take part in this “testing” period, so to speak, you’ll get a special spray for your time. Solo Showdown will end on 5/21 at 10 AM ET, but there’s more to come. Epic Games has an announcement to share about competitive play starting next week. Fortnite is always adding and removing special modes, so be on the lookout for more limited time events coming down the pipeline.
