Fortnite Refund Request Guide: How to Return Purchased Items

Fortnite Battle Royale is a free-to-play video game that lets players purchase cosmetic items. While these items give no advantage, many players own them and buy new ones nearly every week. Skins (outfits) are the most popular cosmetic item and some of them cost up to $20. Fortunately, players can request a refund for them!

Fortnite refund request was first added to the game in Season 4 of Chapter 1. Each player got three lifetime refund tickets they could use to get V-Bucks back for the items they no longer wanted. However, players wanted more refund tickets and that is what Epic Games has added in the latest patch.

How to get a Fortnite refund

With the latest Fortnite patch, players now get a new refund ticket every 365 days. While this is a long time to wait, it’s still better than nothing. Furthermore, players can have up to three refund tickets active at a time.

To request a Fortnite refund, you have to follow these steps:

  • Load up the video game
  • Go to the Settings menu
  • Open Account and Privacy tab
  • Choose “Submit a Request” and select the item for a refund
  • Provide a reason for the return (you can write anything here)
  • Confirm by clicking on the “Submit Return Request” button

After this short process, you will receive a confirmation message that shows refunded V-Bucks. Furthermore, the message will show when a new refund request will be available.

Keep in mind, you will not be able to return all the items you’ve purchased. Only cosmetic items purchased within the last 30 days are eligible for a refund. In addition to this, players cannot request a refund for “consumable” items such as the Battle Pass or Battle Pass levels. Additionally, real money purchases, such as starter packs and bundles, cannot be refunded.

Getting Fortnite V-Bucks refunds

In some situations, players can request a refund for their purchases of V-Bucks. This happens in rare situations such as unauthorized purchases. If this is the case, players will have to contact Epic Games support in order to request a refund.

Some items, such as the Battle Pass, cannot be refunded with refund tickets.

Unlike the refund request tickets, purchases made with real money may not be refunded. After all, it is up to Epic to approve this type of refund.
