Fortnite: The Loot Lake Floating Island Will Get Bigger And Start Moving

Floating island in the center of Loot Lake is one of the biggest map changes in season 6 of Fortnite Battle Royale. The lake is no longer bouncy, but there is another anomaly in the middle of it. The latest patch has added a floating island in the center of the lake, and it appears that the island will start moving over the map.

Fortnite Battle Royale data miners have been busy lately, and they have discovered some interesting details. Thanks to this, we know what’s going to happen in the in-game world. The island is currently floating above the lake, but it may move very soon.

Floating island changes

Twitter page FNBRLeaks has recently discovered some interesting data which indicate that the island will move. As we already know, the cube is making the island float above Loot Lake, and these latest discoveries are all related to the growth of the cube and its movement.

If Epic Games doesn’t change anything, the cube will once again start moving, just like in season 5. Additionally, the cube will grow bigger as there is a separate folder called “CubeGrowth” in the game data. Right now, we don’t know what exactly this will look like and if it is going to drastically affect the size of the island.

As you can see in the screenshot above, there will be many changes to the cube and the floating island. The island may move to Salty Springs as some players have seen a whirlpool in this area. While many players believe this was just a glitch, it may have been a hint at what’s going to happen soon.

Salty Springs has been in the game since its release in September 2017, which is why the Fortnite developer may decide to change something about it. The next patch will most likely come next Tuesday, and this is when we could get some small map changes.
