Fortnite’s Limited Time 50v50 V2 Mode Has Returned

Fortnite Battle Royale fans can jump back into a popular game mode now, as Fortnite’s limited time 50v50 V2 mode is back and up for grabs, just in time for the weekend. Epic Games took to the official Fortnite Twitter account to make the announcement, which has delighted fans all over the country — it’s been a hotly-anticipated game mode and folks are happy to see it back again.

This game mode is a little different than Fortnite’s Battle Royale, where players typically engage in a 100-player free for all to see who ends up as the last person standing. Instead, this 50v50 matchup finds the 100-player roster split down the middle to make two different teams, where both fight against each other in larger skirmishes that take place across various areas of the map. It was first announced back at The Game Awards in 2017, but hasn’t been available since December 17, which is nearly forever in the life cycle of a multiplayer game.

We last thought we’d be getting the game mode back in April, but its long-awaited return was pushed back after the discovery of additional account service problems. Now it’s back right now, and you can jump right in for some ridiculously action-packed battles. Just in time for the weekend, too, as there’s a lot going on in the world of Fortnite. Just in case you missed it, it just welcomed the Avengers: Infinity War crossover event, which lets players uncover the Infinity Gauntlet and become Thanos, the Mad Titan, or in turn defeat him.

Let us know if you’ll be getting into some of the awesomeness this weekend with the new 50v50 mode. We’ll have to hop in and join you.
