  1. No joke, I literally got sick after hearing this.

  2. Yeah - but humans have always neglected the environment around them but they'll realize too late that we need that environment to survive as well. Instead they just keep destroying the homes of animals and plants just to satisfy their need to build pointless stuff.

  3. I don't think such an amazing environment would be a coincidence. After all the developers works hard to create such a stunning environment for us. Last time when I had played watch Dogs legion, I was so astounded with the surroundings and environment. Ubisoft had really work hard to provide the gamers with an amazing experience.

  4. I can definitely do without social media. As a matter of fact, I hardly use it nowadays because it's become so toxic. Would you rather never use social media again or never watch another movie ever again?

    Are forums dead?

It's primarily due to alternative forms of social media and interaction like Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, heck just about anywhere. But the primary reasons for forums dying are Facebook Groups and Discord. With that being said, there are many great forums still around (like VGR) and forums are here to stay, especially if they offer mobile access and compatibility.

  8. Unfortunately, I'm a spender. I have horrible money management habits. I'm also an emotional shopper. When I'm extremely depressed or torn up about something, I tend to shop online and buy shit I don't need, or in the long run, don't even want. Hell this month, I bought a new .380 that I honestly didn't need. I bought it because it was cheap, and because it's laser sighted. It makes it easier to ask a republiKKKlan if he wants it in his left nut or his right nut when he decides to start shit. And since I'm volunteering at the Democratic booth at the county fair this weekend, I need something easy to hide, but easy to use. I just know some Qanon bastard is going to try to start shit.

  13. The way I see it, humans have a responsibility to protect the environment they live in or do what they can to protect Earth and all life in it. Think about your house, or living area; You keep it clean right? You have sanitation to get rid of waste; you protect it; you want it to be comfortable; you have food to eat and clean water. You wouldn't just stand by and let some vandals spray paint it, break down the walls, and leave toxic sludge where you sleep; right? Now go outside, and look around you. That is also your home. Protect it.

  14. And what happens if you don't die on that day? Imagine disrespecting your boss telling him you're going to die today only to live till tomorrow. 🤣

  15. It always ends poorly when the government has to do the parenting. Governments will tend to use these kids as test subjects for their unscrupulous experiments under the guise of "helping" the kids when in reality, they're using the kids as a case study and will incorporate a more widespread version down the line.

  16. @Crazycrab is correct - there are so many more examples of this in the industry outside of CDPR.

    Milestone Thread

75,000 forum posts by the end of July? That would be very impressive. I must say the forum has been quite active the past 2-3 weeks. Thanks all for your contributions and continued support!

  19. He's right @skyfire. You could generate a list of "indie" games and include Skyrim, Grand Theft Auto 4 and The Witcher 3 and it would be perfectly valid.

  20. No, independent only means that they are operating without a third party publisher. CD Project Red is an independent studio and they have hundreds of employees. It's a common misconception, the term "independent" has absolutely nothing to do with the size or scale of the business.

  23. I think Pepsi really screwed up their logo. The Pepsi ball is long gone, and it was a great logo. This "ball" that they have now is just ugly and not representing much of anything anymore. I wish they would go back to the logo they used in the 1980's, or at least the one they had in the early to mid 1990's.

  25. I would think this should be something that the parents choose for their families and not something that any government should impose. Yes, children's brains and health are at risk if they are constantly are glued to a video game. But parents should be the ones who step in and set boundaries.

    Casual gamer

Honestly, and with all due respect to @HolisticStorm, I'd rather live in world where this ridiculous definition didn't exist at all. And I'm not just referring to gaming. Gaming is a hobby, but it's not like all hobbies. With hobbies like fishing or golf, people who take it more seriously are warrant of some extra respect because they have useful knowledge to impart that can only come from experience. Playing video games is pure entertainment, so it just doesn't matter if you're doing for one, three, six, twelve or even more in a day, because someone who dose can't impart knowledge that will help anyone enjoy gaming any more than the already do. Not to mention how little good the "hardcore" it will do them to boast about it in the real world. I'm oversimplifying it, I know, you quite obviously can learn a hell of a lot of genuinely helpful knowledge from other gamers (otherwise forums like this would have little reason to exist), but that's in reference to stuff like tips, guides, technical troubleshooting etc. What no gamer can teach, no matter how "hardcore" they are, is how to love it more. My aforementioned examples of fishing and golf would be properly shit without knowing what your doing. At least some guidance is necessary, but in gaming how much you enjoy it is defined buy how you feel about that specific game, not gaming itself. A "movie expert" can't teach someone how to love watching movies more, if anything there more likely to ruin it, and it's the same with games. And before anyone says it, recommending games is a different thing. That's still in reference to specifics within the hobby, not advice to enjoy the hobby itself. The only time I would offer a genuine exception would be on professional gaming (e-sports), because that's a sport. Like any sport that also just happens to exist as a hobby, that is 100% competitive and being the best is all that matters. Anywhere else, the difference between "hardcore" and "casual" only exists in the insecure, self absorbed minds of the people that call themselves "hardcore". Being "hardcore" does not make anyone more, not in gaming, and anyone who thinks otherwise us no better that any arrogant little fanboy I've had the misfortune to meat over the years, a sadly frequent experience. What's the test to be a gamer? Like games. That is all.
