  1. And before anyone says that we already have it, yes I know. Microtransactions and loot boxes have pretty much been our version of gambling in games. But, with the recent news of sports betting blowing up as of late, it got me thinking that video games could be the next one to offer some sort of real gambling. I hope it never happens honestly, because the whole idea is dumb. If it were to happen, they wouldn't be able to let any of these games go to kids and they'd for sure have to find a method of making sure those playing are actual legal adults. But, do you think there's a possibility this can happen in future video games? Or maybe we'll start to see games released with gambling options. What do you guys think? Could this be a real possibility? Also, I'm not referring to gambling on video games themselves, as in betting on a game between people. I'm referring to actual gambling options built into the games themselves, where you can win money playing the game. Sorry in advance if this has caused any confusion.

  2. Imagine playing a Final Fantasy game where you didn't play the story at all and were thrown straight into the endgame content? That would be ridiculous, right? Well, that's exactly what PS+ subscribers and Epic Games users can expect when they are offered Godfall this December. A version of an action RPG with the story missions completely removed in what is called "The Challenge Edition" with only the optional endgame content left behind. More details from PushSquare. I was looking forward to playing this, and I'm very disappointed, but more importantly very concerned about this. A lot of games have thier DLC expansions and deluxe editions and so on that offer more content than the base game. That means that game companies can still earn some revenue from the games offered by these subscriptions, and I don't grudge that. Whether you agree with that or not, the fact is they are what they are. It's fair enough I feel that services like PS+ only ever offer the base game, but creating a version with a very deceptive title that's only a portion of the base game for PS+ users set's a bad precedent. Is what we are supposed expect from PS+ and other similar services from now on? Paying to play partial games, because you DO pay for PS+ titles, don't be deluded. So it's obvious what Gearbox are doing, they're offering people a taste in the hope people will then purchase the full game. Well, that isn't a new thing, once upon a time they were called DEMO'S! And they were free! This is not what services like PS+ were supposed to offer and I sadly feel this is the start of a detrimental change to these services. What do you guys think about this?

  3. I'm actually tempted to pre order the game Elden Ring as well after watching the game's trailer. It looks very thrilling.

  4. You will get it by tomorrow, so relax, chill out and wait for it to come for you tomorrow.

  5. I regret pre-ordering Aliens: Colonial Marines... that was such a disaster! That said, I still pre-order stuff. I’ve had Elden Ring on pre-order since it was announced.

  6. I got 5/12. It's been years since I saw an episode of the show.

  7. Yeah, it’s a slippery slope. Not cool having a borked/abridged version of the game on PS Plus. Seems a bit cheeky.

  8. *Clap, Clap Clap* This is how Sony fights against Xbox? Xbox has been giving away games for $10 basically. Xbox is winning when it comes to subscription services. They might not have that many exclusives right now, but when they put over twenty games in a single month it really makes the service look worthwhile. I don't want Sony to get behind, I want Sony to succeeded, cause then I can get more games. I've sitting here for five months on Game Pass, and already have played more AAA games this year then I have with PlayStation. Do you know what it is like to watch a console company you grew up with become less valuable than the competitor. I grew up with PS4, not with Xbox. But Xbox has been giving me bangs for my buck, Sony may have exclusives, but why should spend $70 for a game, when I can get 300+ for $10 a month? I would gladly buy a PS5, problem is, I am going to have to wait a couple of years for prices to go down. I can get a Series S for $300 bucks, get Game Pass and get over a hundred games a year. This is why I'm at the Xbox ecosystem, PlayStation is too pricy for me. The fact that PS+ can't even provide a full next-gen exclusive game shows the problem with it. It's only last-gen, I've already played last gen, they're great games, but I have them on discs. The times are changing, Xbox is fighting not with exclusives, but with Game Pass. Sorry for the long rant, I just have a lot to say about this current generation.

  9. Oh, one more thing, may as well plug the threads pinned to the Video Game Deals sub-forum that are kept up to date on the latest offers on Xbox Live Games with Gold, PlayStation Plus and Free Games with Epic.

  10. Seriously, there is a beauty in doing that which I kept asking myself why didn't I quit playing the game sooner and have the kind of relaxation I do now.

  11. Yeah, after trying to get into the game twice and it wasn't working out, I had to move on to playing other games like Final Fantasy series.

I got into playing Tom Clancy's The Division 2 which is an only online, third person, co-operative shooter game that's very thrilling with all the kill and survival in the game.

  13. It's a useless Easter egg if you ask me because there is no importance attached to it in the game at all.

  14. Using cars to chase balls and using legs to chase ball aren't the same at all. The control of the ball with cars is definitely going to be more difficult with do.

  17. Nice, you must have a decent collection going. Do you ever have plans to put them on a shelf? Or are you going to keep them in bins for easier access? I kinda dream of having a game room where I can put up tons of shelves with all the games I have. I just like the idea of seeing all of my games lined up. Plus I also want to put gaming memorabilia around the collection as well. But yeah, I get that. Sometimes it's not easy to display everything, especially if you may have a smaller room or house and can't accomodate a ton of games in one area.

  18. The map or the quest marker in a game is simply a symbol that shows us our gaming progress, how you should defend and battle AI out.

  19. Collectibles are definitely a bit of a chore when it comes to gaming.. It just feels like a really cheap way of extending the longevity of a game. Multiplayer trophies/achievements are another.. Especially when you have to spend several hours grinding out progress toward completing a task.

  20. I'm definitely getting the captain Marvel one - The design is absolutely fantastic. Plus I was planning on making a Gundam-themed gaming area so I need lots of Red, Blue and White in it.

  21. Yeah. That's why I said The Evil Within games are much better than this first person crap that Capcom has wanted to put out in recent years, because the second game in that series has the same gameplay style as RE4, 5, etc, but all the atmosphere of games like the RE1 remake, and early survival horror titles in a general sense. And with an optional first person mode, it made the game feel unique, if only for fans of horror games who like games like Outlast, for example. Basically, it feels like how RE was before Capcom had it becoming so... "Hollywood", I guess you could say. LOL! 🤑 I also think Days Gone is so f*cking underrated. That's one of the best and longest games I've played in like MANY years. It was kind of glitch-o-rama when it initially came out, but I think they've patched it a lot since, making it more tolerable. And while it's supposed to be an action game, some parts are so intense and scary, like when you run into a horde by the highway. Like, I recall that fight at the cabin with the angry bear, kept you on your toes. Honestly, that game and The Last of Us Part II gave me faith in gaming again. Very amazing graphics, engaging gameplay, and stories that kept me entertained until the very end. Whereas these pedestrian RE games today can be finished in about 3 or so hours, for to unlock speed running achievements. And they aren't really that scary either. The only part in RE8 that was creepy I'd say, was when you had to avoid the mutant baby thing, and that section reminded me of P.T. so much. But the rest of it just sucked, because you were basically just living out a shallow copy of RE4. 😏

  23. The Simpsons: Hit & Run was a game that I played on my PlayStation 2 years ago which I am really interested in getting back to but I simply can't because I don't think it's available on PlayStation 4.

  24. This morning, I happened to look on Rely on Horror, a site that covers survival horror games. Then I seen a video for a new game called "Post Trauma". Sorry, my phone is being ass and I cannot highlight text to make titles show up in italic. Meh. But the point is... I see that indie devs still care about the old-school style of horror games. So Capcom, take note now! Maybe give people the option to have fixed, third or first person perspectives from the beginning. Huh? Makes a lot of sense to have choices available to us, right?

  25. That's a good question. I sometimes do some things that I wouldn't otherwise do just to get the attached achievement or reward, but there are lines I do not cross.

  26. Well, mostly having to collect a ton of items that gets you nothing. I can't stand collecting things that aren't really needed. Like in the Assassin Creed games, having to collect feathers and other items. It just gets really tedious to have to do that. And when they tie it into an achievement, I usually don't bother unless it's easy and I can traverse through the map really fast. Otherwise I just don't have the patience.

  27. I think lootboxes are real gambling. The only difference is that with real gambling you have the chance however marginal to win a big prize. With lootboxes you ever loose, because even if you get what you wanted, it is a digital item that literally costs nothing to the company selling the lootboxes. So the dealer wins no matter what.

  29. When I'm at a loss for words, there's something I've said for a long time: Good for you or fuck you, whichever you prefer. The chair is a pain in the ass (sometimes literally) but it's life. Luckily it's a power chair, so I don't have to try to find strength that I don't have to get around. The only downside is that if it's raining or snowing, then I'm locked in the house. If this thing gets wet, the controls will be destroyed and it becomes a several thousand dollar lawn decoration. So to clean the wheels and whatnot, I have to use compressed air. Which means I had to buy a small air compressor. Sucks.
