  1. Has anyone mentioned a chatbox option? You know like having a chatbox so people can just chat with one another. Here's an example of what I mean:

  2. The yearly release system doesnt work anymore (it never did), publishers and developers should take a year off and rethink the way the game is presented, they could probably go the same route as PES now E-Football and go for a live service and free to play type of game with cosmetics only microtransactions, at least if somebody wants to play the game they dont have to pay every year for a release of a new game. Or if you just want to play some casual co-op soccer matches you can just buy whatever fifa game version from 2018 and below for less than 5 US dollars, even at my local gamestop they are selling used copies of thhe game for less than a dollar.

  4. Ooh... RE: Verse is seemingly coming very soon. That must also mean that RE8 will finally be getting the additional DLC Capcom spoke about last summer as well, right? Well... I hope so. 🙂 https://youtu.be/pGjUgwjGQPQ

  5. Surely we can add more games right? Man i've been thinking about this the last couple of days and it feels hard to find a few couch co-op games. But apart from the ones mentioned, especially with xbox one and series x in mind as per original posters request. Normally i like using arrows instead of dots but i'll list it the same as @shagger to keep it uniform. Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 : What do you get when you combine the 2 best puzzle franchises ever, yes this game. Highly addicting even in single player, it's most likely more fun to play it with a person on the couch. Imo this is the best puzzle game ever made so you can't go wrong either way. Unravel 2: The first one diden't have have co op but the second you can play with a friend together on the couch, exellent puzzle platform where yarn plays a major role in solving puzzles. I think this may appeal to a lot of female gamers because of the cute art style. Rayman Legends : Arguably The best platformer on a xbox console, you can't go wrong with this one. I know it's an older game but still worth playing today. Team Sonic Racing : Nothing beats a kart racer to play in split screen. Crash Team Racing nitro-fueled : Same as above, crash team racing is better then team sonic racing though. Diablo 3: Damn i almost forgot about this, you know what diablo is if you don't then well then what are you even doing on a video game forum. J/K Stardew Valley: I'm sorry i have to bring this game up every few days, but yes you can play stardew valley in co-op, you do have to build a cottage for your companion first. This is probably the best game ever made, so you can't go wrong either way. Halo Master chief collection: The first 2 halo games are imo the best split screen games ever made, it made friendships and also destroyed them. we used to play with 4 players on a tiny Crt tv back in the day which made it even more hectic since you could barly see what you were doing. Nowadays with those huge 4k screens you shoulden't have a problem having fun with this one. As far as i know local split screen is included. If you have an xbox you probably have this already right? Lego games: I think nearly all of them have local co-op so pick which one you like and go for it. I'd highly recomned Lego city undercover because it's not tied to any license or whatsoever and of the lego games i played i had the most fun with. Streets of rage 4: Can't have a list of local co-op games without a good old beat em up, so there you go. I think the second game is still the best in the series though but you can play that aswell on your xbox. See below SEGA Mega Drive Classics / Genesis Classics : I should have listed this one on the top because it's just that good of a compilation, but you know streets of rage all 3 games are included, all the golden axe you could possibly want to play on the couch. Sonic 2, still holds up to this day playing together with a friend. I'm sure there are a ton more on this comp you could play together and if you're tired of playing with a partner, the best jrpg of all time is included aswell Phantasy star IV. There is even a rewind button and save states so you can restart where you left off. Monopoly : Ubisoft released several monopoly games over the years, so just pick one that looks the most interesting to you. Now why would you play a board game on a console, because you can save your game, nobody can cheat and you don't have to stay up until 5am in the morning until the game would possibly be finished, i for one never in my life finished a monopoly game where only one person remained. There are more i could list like Human Fall Flat, Moving out and Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime but i have not played these so i can't comment on how they are. I think if you try all those listed above you should be quite busy for a good amount of time.

  6. This is a bit random, but I'm curious, and also seeking to find out if I'm a little bit mad. When a video game offers you the chance to name specific armour, weapons or equipment (like in The Elder Scrolls, for example), do you have a pattern? I always like to name my equipment after artists, song or albums I like. For example, I'll name a bow "Primo Victoria" named for the Sabaton song/album of the same name. It's Latin for "First Victory", so for me it fits. For the same reason I also like to call armoured footwear "Sabaton" because that's what a "Sabaton" is. I've also named a sword "Lovebites" for the Japanese all-female power metal band, a bow "Unleash The Archers" again for the band of the same name and a mace "Archangel" in tribute to the Amaranthe song bearing the name. What influence do to you draw from for inspiration?

  7. Seriously, no matter how much they try to sell Tecno products to me with all of the specs in the world, I wouldn't be interested in it.

  8. The song beat is superb, I stepped down to listen to the karaoke, I love the voice that came out from the beat. I guessed this song featured in the GTA V, just that i didn't pay attention to the soundtracks in the game.

  9. I don't see this making any difference. EA football or whatever they plan to name the series from now on will be same, toxic pile of slime as least year's game, like it is every year. The only change to expect is to perhaps see another developer/publisher making the official FIFA game in the future, and I wouldn't expect much from that either. If anything FIFA care even less about the quality and ethics of the EA Sports FIFA games than EA did. They were happy for the games to that toxic pile of slime so long as that topic pile of slime make them money. @Withywarlock may have described this a "The End of Era", but to me it sounds more reminiscent of that time somebody in 1918 said "That was the war to end all war.". Just a prologue to more misery and disappointed.

  13. Yes. Try games from earlier eras like the NES era. Some of those games were next to impossible, and no guide existed. Nintendo Power was no help. You were left on your own. Blaster Master was one of the games that many players couldn't finish because they couldn't find their way around in Area 2, or if they made it through Area 2, they couldn't figure out Area 3. And almost all of them couldn't find Area 4. The reason for that is because the entrance to Area 4 was hidden all the way back in Area 1. The entrance to Area 7 was hidden in Area 2. It was worse than just finding the boss in each Area. It was finding the entrance to them. It's on the line between cruel and hard, at best. So a lot of gamers absolutely hated the game, simply due to its difficulty. It's ranked up there with Battletoads, if not higher in difficulty. The fact that it's a relatively unknown game is what keeps it off YouTube lists. Then you have ROM-hacks, but those don't really count as they're fan made games. The hardest game I've ever played in my life is Zelda: Goddess Of Wisdom.

  15. I find that very hard to believe that a gamer isn't on Discord. Why if may ask? It was one of the first place I started making use of when I started gaming full time. I have already joined the Discord channel.

  17. Sorry @DC, I'm out to. I know you need sponsors to keep the website going, but I can't in good conscience get involved with something like this and will confirm I won't be checking it out. Much like @Shagger I have made my feelings about NFT's and so called "play to earn" Blockchain games clear on other threads and, let's just say they are not favourable. Even if I did believe in NFT's and investments in the metaverse, their value has fallen through the bottom of barrel and it's just not a smart thing to invest one's money or time in.

  20. Depending how liberal we're being with the term open world, the one that immediately springs to mind is Blighttown in Dark Souls Remastered. Painfully dimly lit, there's ogre-like creatures with heavy clubs that swing hard and chase fast. Some throw boulders as you're trying to navigate the poison swamp. There's poison dart-blowers, mosquitoes as tall as a Hollowed, natives humanoids that I can't begin to describe, and fire hounds. At least there's maggots that can easily be dealt with for easy Souls. The original version of the game was particularly hard to deal with because the frame-rate died a death in Blighttown, making it one of the worst locations in games for quite a while. For a more conventional open world title I would say Alcaz Island in World of Warcraft, at least during the Legion expansion where Hunters could tame the mechanical inhabitants... if they could surpass the turrets that would shoot down both grounded and aerial targets.

  22. It's due to all the things that have to be programmed into an open world game to make it a decent game. In linear games, there's less to have to worry about. Just a background with a little bit of this and that. Some more elaborate than others. But if you were to compare SMB3 to RDR2, the reason should be obvious.

  24. This situation is why the phrase “the customer is always right” was created. That phrase doesn’t mean everyone has to bend over for Karen being a scumbag just because she’s the customer. What it was created to mean was that if you sell hats and you start a promotion to give away a free taco with the purchase of every hat and people are only buying your hats to get the taco, stop selling hats and just sell tacos. Just sell the games, Ubisoft. Jesus.

    Games for two players

You managed to list a couple of games I would have suggested already, so I'll have to dig a little deeper. Some of these game I'm about to list are, I admit, a little older, but if you haven't played them they knew to you both. Divinity: Original Sin: A top down RPG with a cooperative play mode. A fairly challenging and lengthy game, but you do have to be into the genre. Child of Light: This is a beautiful game that can be played alone or cooperatively. At any point during the game, a second player can join and take control of Aurora’s companion Igniculus, who is a ball of light later discovered to be an Elemental and is able to fly freely around the screen. Because of that I'll admit it's probably not the most compelling cooperative experience on this list, but it's great game none the less. Cuphead: I'll admit I haven't actually played this one, but main reason I haven't is because I did not want to play it alone. It's a fiercely difficult 2D platformer/sidescroller in the style of a 1930's cartoon. Haven: This is a game I started playing quite recently. It's a game where you play as a couple (can be a straight or same sex couple) exploring a strange planet in escape of you old lives in society. You look for materials and recourses on this mysterious planted in bid to eventually escape and find a new life. The gameplay is basic, but functional and is defiantly geared more towards coop. It's a sweet little game and makes sense to play as a couple. Well, that's what I've got. Hopefully others have more ideas, but I hope that was helpful.

  26. I think @Darth and @Crazycrab have more or less covered it. There's larger environments to render and more processes happening in the background such as NPC and enemy activity and more objects to interact with. These games also tend to use hardware differently and tend to be heavy on CPU dependant processes like AI, pathfinding, NPC activity and rendering objects off-screen. These are things one would usually associate more with open worlds and they will test hardware in ways liner games don't. Because of all these processes and the way they utilise hardware it makes them more complex to program, so inevitably they get more bugs and glitches. Bugs are also harder to find with larger area's and more objects to interact with. It's unfortunate, but inevitable that game developers can't spend the time and money to find every bug, especially with how big these games get these days.

  27. Oh well. There are enough creative people in the industry who are unknown. Del Toro having zero experience, yet being able to co-direct a video game doesn't exactly sound promising. I love his movies, and especially his eye for creating strange characters, but felt like his name on Silent Hills was more for publicity. Do you really think Kojima would ever make a game that he didn't have 100% control over?

    Gotham Knights RPG

I'm not sure about this, it just smells alot like this Destiny style "live service" crap with the RPG elements and the co-op. This isn't what people wanted out of a new Batman game. It's as if DC felt the need to put something out there to rival Marvel's Avengers, but why? The world already hates that game, we don't need another one. This will probably be better than Marvel's Avengers, but that's not saying much.
