  1. Simply put, they're fun. Video games are an escape from reality, a temporary escape, but an escape nonetheless. They can also be benefitial, from being a tool to workout, to improving dexterity, hand eye coordination, problem solving, and more. Video games are entertainment. I play them because I have fun with them, and they make the mundane days better.

  2. I play because it's a break from the real world. And I can be whatever I want to be through games. It can't get any simpler than that.

  3. Please share your reasons. It really depends for me. For example, I play games like solitaire, chess, and bridge to keep my mind sharp and engaged. I play sports related games like Madden and NBA because I am a sports fan and enjoy competing with and against my favorite players and teams. I play games like PUBM, Battlefield, and Call of Duty because shooters are fun and very social.

  4. I heard today is Atari's 50th birthday. It's been a long history of ups and downs, but lately mostly downs. Atari isn't what they used to be, sadly they haven't been the same company since they were producing games and consoles. I don't even know who owns the company anymore, as its changed ownership so many times over. The new company that owns the name, released a new console that has been mostly forgotten since release. Even though they are no longer the same company, there is still some cool history there. I just wish Atari would stick to making games and not worry about devices. The current Atari is not the Atari we know, and I don't think they will ever be. What are your favorite memories about Atari?

  5. I've done a couple of playthroughs of Breath of the Wild, and I know I've put in at least 250 hours each time. Most of it probably waiting for the rain to stop so I could keep climbing.

  6. Johnbonne Reviews was my review channel, now used to upload Let's Plays whinging about just about everything. Currently I'm playing Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly, and afterwards I plan on playing Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds. Not video gaming as such, but I also do D&D session recaps on this channel. Neither are monetised (if there are ads, it's due to copyright issues with music) and I only really make the videos for my darling, but if anyone's interested in watching the content, here it is.

  7. I have to say A Boy And His Blob on NES. It's absolutely crazy. There is a blob that needs your help getting back t its home planet, Blobonia. In the game you feed the blob different flavored jellybeans to turn it into different forms like a ladder and an umbrella, so that you can traverse through everywhere and get him home. That's one of the things I love about the era. Risks on the part of the developers.

  8. YouTube started as a service to upload content. I believe Justin.tv (Twitch before their name change) starting streaming first, and then YouTube jumped on. But I remember it taking a long time, maybe when Twitch became a thing.

  9. Kinda the same. My friend was the only person at the time who had the internet, so in order for me to get some cheats, I had to go over to his house, and ask if they could search for cheats. I got cheats for some PS1 games back in the day. I remember having to write them down sometimes, or they would be cool to print off a sheet. But I remember my friend saying I had to pay $1 to print lol.

  10. Honestly, this is kind of concerning to me. The forum hit 50,000+ posts in a span of a few months. Seeing as the last three months had massive problems with low quality posts, I'm not sure 50,000 posts is a good thing when most of the posts kind of suck.

  12. I'd say I've been burnt out on video games a lot in the past. Not to say it has kept me from gaming, but it's caused me to game less and less these days. I mostly play fortnite with a few other games in the mix. It's not like it used to be, where I'd be playing almost daily.

  13. I remember getting some through the scholastic book fair back in the day. Sadly I don't think I still have any of them lying around. I also got rid of all of my gaming magazines, which usually had some cheat codes. I mostly got my cheats from the internet back then. I remember going to a friends and he'd print off cheats for me, good times.

  14. I wasn't aware of the upcoming Hollow Knight : Silksong. I had to check out its trailer and it looks great. I'm getting it on my Nintendo Switch once it's out.

  15. Maybe you're not used to playing with Kitana. She's as good as any other character in Mortal Kombat 2 or any other series she featured. I hardly lose my fight with her.

Goat Simulator 3 is going to leave you useless laughing yourself out. It's one of those games that's going to have your ribs ripped out with lots of laughter.
