    minecraft

i have tried to play minecraft like 6 times. i just don't get it. i don't understand what i'm supposed to be doing. i've tried every single world mode there is. it's my understanding that you can't mine for what you need in creative and i'm just at a loss. i simply don't understand what this game is about or what i'm supposed to do and i finally have given up. the only mode i can get the controls to work in is creative. the other modes i can't even get my character to jump up on anything. i'm not a stupid person but this game makes absolutely no sense to me. to me it's the equivalent of roblox. i tried that too. didn't get it either. the game has just left me confused every time i've played it.

  2. Back in the day I knew a kid who would hide money in his video game carts. He had a torx screwdriver or whatever was needed to open up NES, SNES, N64 carts, and I guess what he'd do, is when he got some birthday money or anything else, he'd put it inside the games. I guess his brothers often stole from him, and even though they'd play his games, they never stole them. So he was always assured it'd be a safe option. I never did that, but I did once hide a note I got from a girl in the back of my PS2 expansion slot (for internet, or a HDD). I wasn't using the console then, but I put that note there to hide it. Honestly it's not a bad hiding spot for other things too. 😄

    Alone in the Dark

Finally. The granddaddy of survival horror games, is getting a glorious remake. I've been a fan of the series since I played The New Nightmare and Jack is Back. None of the other PC games got released on the PlayStation, which I felt was strange at the time, giving the original game's popularity. These games were very atmospheric, as they had fixed camera angles and things could jump through windows, or suddenly walk through a door. You would have to discard things like oil cans manually to free up space, as they would be used up, and still appear in your list of items. As with the original, you can play as either Edward Carnby or Emily Heartwood, as they go to investigate a haunted mansion. There will be exploration, puzzles, and item management. All of that good stuff. So definitely looking forward to the teaser coming the week after next week, where you play as "Grace" [Saunders] from the second game in a prelude.

  4. Check out the environment trailer for The Valiant, an new RTS (real time strategy) game by THQ Nordic. It is a squad based RTS that is set in 13th Century Europe and the Middle East. It's dropping October 19th of this year. Does this game look interesting to you? I'm not too into RTS games, but I don't mind them either.

  5. I'm surprised there is no topic/discussion about the game Scorn as it's coming out this October 21st. I'm not really one for these types of games, but I am aware there are people really interested in checking it out, as it is heavily inspired by H. R. Giger, who had his own special art style, and helps create the xenomorph in Alien. Plus I believe he was involved with the design of the Alien's world.

  9. That's good. I'll tell you one gross thing they've been doing lately here at Mc's.. adding tons of this "salt and pepper" mix to the burgers. I now have to say "1 plain McDouble with NO salt or pepper please." Really, I just mean the pepper. I didn't know it was a salt and pepper mix and trust me, it ruins the whole taste.

  10. Scary Movie always cracks me up - them paroding actual horror films with amazing accuracy is what really makes it entertaining.

  11. I got my first computer around 1998/99 because I remember having Windows 98 on it and I used to play Pinball, Counterstrike, Age Of The Empires and Max Payne.

  12. Honestly, nowadays I do tend to watch movies on my PC and Phone far more than the TV and it's more of a convenience thing. I'm always on my computer for a large part of the day so that's what I tend to watch them on unless I have someone over and we're watching Netflix. I'll use the TV in that scenario.

    Are you a mobile gamer?

They're full of microtransaction systems that put EA and others to shame but nobody hardly every mentions it because a good number of these same mobile game developers sponsor a good amount of YouTubers so you'll never hear the truth about these sort of things.

  14. Agreed - I can value a developer's stance but if I don't enjoy their games, why buy them? Isn't that why we play games?

  15. Doom Slayer is one of the most iconic characters despite saying a bunch of one-liners. His feats in-game especially in Doom 2016 onwards is nothing short of impressive. The original Doom just had some guy shoot demons because he was pissed off someone killed his cat. The more recent games gave him a bit more characterization.

  17. I had the commodore before that, probably mid/late 90s is when we had it. Sadly it died and we put it away in a shed to rot away. I wish I still had the whole computer and everything with it, but my parents likely tossed it years ago. Yeah the 2000s were a good time to get into computers. I remember before we got a newer PC, I would always throw a fit to my parents asking for one. I learned PCs pretty quick, but I remember having to teach my mom how to use a PC many times until she finally figured it out.

  18. Sometimes I use my phone for work, but I will often be working and have a video on my other screen. I currently have a three screen setup for my PC. My main one is used for general use, work, etc. My second monitor is mostly used for video/screensharing from discord, etc. Third screen is mostly meant for Discord itself. I don't work much on my phone unless I'm away from my PC or not home. I used to work more on my phone, but got tired of doing that, so don't do it as much anymore.

  19. Hi, Thank you for the replies and welcoming me to the forum. Turns out I was looking at the wrong genre. I looked into hack and slash and found 2 games that looked like they would be good for me: Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen and God of War. I really appreciate it.

  20. Yeah, I grew up on McDonald's, so I can't help but 'loving it,' as the company slogan says. Plus, I'm spoiled by our local food delivery service, Grab, which means I got to have McDonald's very often delivered right to my doorstep. It's expensive, costing $20-$30 per meal (paying for two), but convenient. I got kinda tired of the meals after having it for two weeks straight though, so I'm not sure if I'd bother eating fast food everyday even if it's healthy for me. If it's different fast food chains aside from just McDonald's alone though, maybe, but our KFC here doesn't cook their chicken well (you could find blood in them often), and the burgers and fries of other fast food chains just don't taste as good as McDonald's. I know McDonald's food doesn't have the best reputation in America, but the Singaporean McDonald's isn't just tastier, but a lot less disgusting too. It tastes fresh most of the time unless it's delivered at night (when they bring out the leftovers sitting in storage throughout the day).

    Blackout Bingo

Blackout Bingo is a cool game that one can play during some calm nights. You shouldn't expect to earn real money on it as the possibility is very slim.

  23. I'll give it one last chance at the Game Awards. But it's boring seeing these so-called leakers saying the same things. It's as if one rumour ends, only for another one to fall into place. It's to the point where I can still remember being excited for last year's Tokyo Game Show for the same reason, only to feel it was a colossal waste of time. God, time really does fly. That really doesn't even feel like it was a whole year ago. But indeed, it was.

  25. Yes and no I think it really depends, like for example on one end we have great shows like Castlevania, Arcane, stranger things but on the other hand we have shitty productions like the recent Resideng evil show or the death note adaptation Basically Netflix has a lot of content, more than hbo, disney or prime, but more doesnt always equal to quality

  26. I tend to enjoy the more obscure and frankly deranged ones like Harvester (content warning for all manner of things below): However I would like to get more into Broken Sword, and also try out the Monkey Island games for their Douglas Adams/Monty Python-esque humour. Those are the sorts of adventure game where despite their wackiness they at least make sense.
