  1. We have a general chat section including a forum games section that's there for a reason, the problem was (and I do say was as this problem has come under control in recent months on VGR) is that none of the culprits used the thread the way they were supposed to.

  3. I was having a really bad day the other week, and found the only thing that made me feel safe and okay for a few hours was to log into my friend’s Minecraft world. When we were young, her house used to be the place I feel safe, but she lives across the country now. I was surprised by what a big help her Minecraft world was for getting me more centered again. Does anyone else here find that virtual environments have a therapeutic effect on you?

  7. Well it looks like I'm going to be listening to (likely various arrangements) of "All You need is Love" by the Beatles over next several months since my brother just asked me to play it at his wedding:

  12. Another moment is when he just woke up in-game and he bound to some sort of demon sarcophagus with some zombie-like demons were surrounding him and he broke free of his chains and mercilessly slaughtered them all.

    Favorite licensed games?

I don't know if you'd call it a game, but Telltale's Game of Thrones is a fantastic extension of the plot. It really captures the tension and depth of the show perfectly. The Walking Dead is good too, but the first few episodes tried too hard to work in point-and-click elements. It just didn't fit. They seemed to catch their head on that by the end of season 1, though. I haven't played s2 yet.

  15. Thank you all for these great recommendations. I love Zelda, I really do. I wish the weapons didn't break in Breath of the Wild and that I was better at figuring out the combat system and what to do/where to go. I'll try to contribute back to the forum somehow - my vid game knowledge is limited in recent years, but I'll try to put in some response posts to threads where I can.

  16. Gaming is great to take ones mind off of things. It doesn't always work for me, but gaming has helped me keep my mind off of many life problems, or at least temporarily. The pandemic was a big problem when it came to stress. I was stressed quite a bit, but gaming, movies, tv, helped me through it.

  17. My smartphone, definitely, but it's beaten by my usage of my PC, which I use very often daily. I haven't used my TV in a long time, but that might change from now on, now than I'm back to binging TV shows.

  18. It won't work because of how Hollywood makes movies these days. I enjoy depth in my characters as much as the next guy, and Daniel Craig is easily my favorite Bond of all time, but if you look at the older Bond films, you could see a workable template for Agent 47, where a perfect killer just goes around killing bad guys without mistake. That's boring if done poorly, but if his kills are executed creatively enough, that makes it fun to watch, the same way Bond films are fun to watch even though it's just some British spy killing shallow and egomaniacal villains trying to take over the world. The Jason Bourne films have a great template for this as well. The way he effortlessly kill people could be done for Agent 47 as well. I also feel like parts of Mission: Impossible 3 were the Hitman film we never got, especially the scene where Ethan went through several disguises while infiltrating the enemy base. That's basically what Agent 47 does, and Tom pulled it off with just as much professionalism and sleekness. Just repeat that, but with Agent 47.

  19. I'm fairly similar I think. I've always described myself as an "extroverted introvert" in that when I open up to people I can be very lively and social, but it's also very draining and sometimes I enjoy just being for myself for an entire week, playing Red Dead Redemption 2 or some other big single-player adventure. I do like playing online, but mostly with real-life friends as I enjoy the social aspect more than the competitive aspect. There's a difference between being lonely and just wanting to be alone sometimes and that's totally fine :)

  20. I've never really played online much, i did it for a while during the early 360 days until i realised it was nothing for me and it's safe to say i rather play games on my own and create my own version of what is fun to me. I don't really have a problem with communicating with others as i'm a fairly social type of guy who can talk to pretty much anybody about whatever but i do however as you state it yourself don't really feel the need to be social, there are times where i'd rather be alone and just want to do my own thing wheter it's playing videogames or doing something else like go out hiking solo for an entire day. You shouldn't see it as a problem when somebody wants to spend some time alone or just want to be left alone alltogheter, no on the contrary it's a good characteristic to have.

  22. I've actually returned pedometers that had wayyy too many functions. Say, for example, it would request height, weight, stride, etc. The whole thing needed to be "set up" before it would even begin counting steps. I'd have my brother try to do it but then he said I'd have to put in the time, distance, and stride every time I used it and I was like no way. My fave is the one from Sportline. Basic step counter. 😉

  23. One other thing I realized I do kinda miss, is the lobbies with unruly people throwing around trash talk. For example, The Act Man made a new video recently about the golden age of trash talk, and honestly I kinda wish it was still like this. Yeah it resulted in offensive stuff being said, but damn I do kinda miss lobbies that were kinda chaotic like this. I of course wouldn't join in on the trashtalk, but I'd gladly listen in on it.

  24. Are there people you miss from your gaming past? Who do you miss? I still miss an admin in a MUD I played who died 14 years go. I also often wonder what happened to a girl I knew in a related game when I was a few years younger, who disappeared after she was harassed. I’m not sure I miss anyone else—maybe more the times we had than the players themselves.
