  2. Earlier this evening, I thought, "I haven't played Assassin's Creed Odyssey in a while, I think I might just re-install it and give it a go". Given the install size, I had to remove a couple of games giving myself plenty of room for the game and any updates it might install. I originally bought the game from the Epic Game Store (After a combination of sale prices and coupons, It ended up being quite the steal.), so naturally I use the EGS launcher to install the game. A couple of hours later, I start the game and Ubisoft's launcher Ubisoft Connect opens up. That's OK, I expected that, but then Ubisoft Connect prompts me to install the game, all 100+GB of it, all over again! It turns out Ubisoft Connect does not recognise the EGS install of the game. Why? Because when EGS installs the game, the game is listed as "AssassinsCreedOdyssey" without spaces, but Uplay installs the game under a file called "Assassins Creed Odyssey" with spaces. I am not kidding, that is why Ubisoft Connect couldn't recognise the game was already installed! I understand Ubisoft wanting to verify a digital game copy, but this is just plain stupid. This isn't an indigenous problem with this game either, it happens with others. I read a Reddit post from somebody who had the exact same problem with AC Syndicate. Thankfully, I didn't actually have to install the game all over again as Ubisoft Connect does have a feature that allows you to tell the launcher whare the game files are and verify them, but that was still a full 20 minutes waiting for it to do so for no good reason. I don't know if the same thing happens if you install and launch Ubisoft games through Steam (If somebody can confirm, please do so), but this is why nobody wants to have to buy a game through one platform, then have to link it and run it through another. EA makes you do the same thing when you install EA games through Gamepass, for example, but to thier credit at least that works without any stupid bullshit like this. I wouldn't put it past companies like Ubisoft and EA to make this whole process deliberately inconvenient just so people will use thier own launchers instead of EGS, the Xbox Windows App or Steam. Anyway, rant over. I just wanted to put this out there in hope this might see others avoid the same problem.

  3. I want explanations!!! Of why it is your favorite lore. Give us feelings!!! I want to eat your brain! Ok, how about that lore. I love zombie apocalypse or any apocalypse. But why? Because I love seeing human survival, companions you meet, start over, the awe. I also love fantasy games like the lore in Witcher 3. Subtle horror around every corner. The monsters were awesome and I love when monsters are given a personality. Assassin’s Creed series mixing religion with GMO and AI, too complicated, which makes the lore so special. Valhalla has embraced a fantasy approach and I love it. And I have to mention the new ultimate lore for me today is Skyrim. Blood borne has excellent lore, but the game is too hard to enjoy. What exactly is it I like out of these games? Give me fantasy. My harsh reality says fuck this world. Let’s game

  4. That's the first time I heard that phrase, but I looked it up and it means: Wiktionary def: (Internet slang, sarcastic) A notional political party supported by people who ignore or downplay its cruel, unjust, or extreme policies and rhetoric, and are then shocked or displeased when these policies and rhetoric have adverse consequences to themselves. "'I never thought leopards would eat MY face,' sobs woman who voted for the Leopards Eating People's Faces Party." @NightmareFarm nailed this one!

  5. I've never played any of these games, but I know a lot of you have, so I thought this video would spark some lively conversation.

  6. That sounds a bit more terrifying - but what we haven't even questioned is how the Potato even became sentient and what's its reason for killing people? Was he in a Potato patch on the farm and his whole family got harvested and eaten?

Welcome back. Most people are concentrating on AAA games. Games like TLOU, RDR2, GTA, Skyrim, and others. Me personally I'm still playing my classic systems. Right now, I have my N64 hooked up and have been playing Zelda OoT. I've been dipping in and out of RDR2, but not as much as usual as I've kinda burnt out on it.

  9. lol Ubisoft is on a roll over the past few years and not a good one either. From the data leaks to the failed NFT venture to seemingly shutting down game servers without any prior warning, Ubisoft is outdoing EA at this point.

  10. Since we speak and scribe the King's English on this side of the Atlantic, I could just boil this down to saying you filthy colonials are spelling things wrong, but... You know, that's it. You filthy colonials are spelling things wrong. Seriously though, I have no idea why this and other spelling differences like this happen on the same language.

  11. This song pre-dates me by some 21 years (it was released in 1969, whereas I was born in 1990) - but, I did listen to it a lot as a kid!

  12. Oh man, welcome to Ubisoft hell. They have the absolute worst servers for games that I know of. In fact, I blame my AC Valhalla game crash on Ubisoft Connect where every single game save data was corrupted. I went to Connect to get a free gift or something, can’t remember, and it froze everything leading to corrupt save files. This is a scary insight since Ubisoft is going all out Infinity for all future AC games, meaning their servers at its current state will bring hell to Earth. I don’t know exactly how they will utilize their online server, or if Connect will be used for Infinity. Connect is super slow and just plain fucked. With that said, I just started a new + game with Odyssey playing as the male version because I love the game so much. I’ve recently finished playing as Kassandra with all DLC. And this is awesome you are playing Odyssey. Look, Ubisoft isn’t known for a hair pulling story. But there is so much in the game to love. Stick with it. And play the DLC. Understand the animus storyline. Oh! Don’t forget about the Discovery Tour as you play along. You will love it even more.

  13. The potato would only come out at night because it would sprout in the light! Would be quite ugly for a potato to have sprouts coming out everywhere. It could be the toxins from the sprouts turning the potato into a serial killer.

    Last movie watched?

Not technically the last movie I watched, but I recently watched Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, and I really enjoyed it. It's a perfect example of a movie that is meant for kids, is still enjoyable for adults. The same can not be said for The Emoji Movie, which I also watched recently for some reason. That movie had exactly one funny joke (in my opinion), and it was in the first 5 minutes. Puss in Boots however was enjoyable all the way through, had some genuinely funny moments, and I really loved the animation style. Reminded me a lot of Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse

  16. This is something I have always had an issue with, not so much with single player games that are offline and you play on your own, if you want to cheat in a single player mode, go for it. It's not bothering me and will not affect others only you. When it comes to online multiplayer and playing with others, that is where I draw the line to be honest. If you are cheating you are ruining the game for others who are playing as well and that makes it less enjoyable for others. I am glad to see that some game developers take this very seriously but I do feel more need to take it more seriously.

  17. Pokemon games have definitely become much easier these past two generations. I'm not just saying that because I've been playing since I was a kid and know the type matchups by heart, the last two generations automatically gave the player experience share and you can't even turn that feature off. In the older games, you'd have to train every single Pokemon in your party by switching them out until you obtained the experience share item. (Or experience all in the first generation games.) Not only that, but the old version of the experience share was a held item, meaning only one Pokemon could get extra experience and not you're entire party like in newer games. I get that I'm not the targeted audience of the games, they've always been targeted towards children but I remember struggling with the Gen 1, 2 and 3 games as a child. (I was 19 when I first played Gen 4 and I turned 20 the year Gen 5 came out so I was already a young adult during these generation releases...) Cynthia is a pain in the rear to beat, she's literally the only trainer I've struggled with recently while playing the Gen 4 remakes. I haven't played really much of the other Nintendo franchises, so I don't have much to say about them...
