  1. I don't recall ever dreaming about a game, but there were times when I would think about the game while trying to go to bed. And for some reason, it would often keep me up, like it was calling me to play lol. I remember doing that with the jungle book game, the Lion King, and many other games I played often as a kid/teen.

Would be cool to dream a video game, or I'm in one even. 🙂

  2. Silent Hill doesn't have a great track record. The first 3 games are considered the best of the bunch, with 4 the room, being up there as well. But ever since there hasn't really been a fitting Silent Hill game, unless you want to count shattered memories on the Wii, which I hear is actually quite good.

The rest were particularly mediocre. But, can a new Silent Hill game actually be good? I want to see Silent Hill come back, but I have my doubts about Konami and whether or not they can actually do games right again.

So it looks like Trump was true to his word, he banned TikTok and WeChat. This is a very scary situation, in that this could mean other sites/apps/programs could be banned at the presidents discretion. And I understand the reason it was banned is because they're apps based in China. TikTok has been in the news for privacy concerns, and it's true to worry about that app. But I don't know if anyone should be able to ban an app.

This isn't about tiktok and we chat though. This concerns video games. With this recent ban, could video games be next on the list? Since Chinese company Tencent owns a stake in many popular companies and games (Fortnite, league of legends, Epic Games, Ubisoft, activision, blizzard, etc). This could mean that games from those companies, potentially could be included in a ban.

The article is an interesting read, and it does scare me a bit. I hope this doesn't result in any of those games/companies getting banned.

  4. Do you guys ever watch lets plays for actual games you want to play? Or games you think you never will play? I've done my fair share of this myself. I usually watch horror games played out, as I'm never any good with them, and it brings me anxiety to play them lol.

I find lets plays to be fine to watch. Sometimes I'll watch them with commentary, mainly because I like the person streaming. But other times I just want to see and hear the story play out. Some games I can't play, and some I just don't want to because the controls weird me out, or it's a game I know I'd suck at.

Do you guys do this? If so, what games did you watch instead of play?

  5. What is one game you think you could play for the rest of your life. Pick only one game that you could continue to play until the day you die. For me, it would be a tough one. It's a toss up between Super Mario World and WWE Smackdown Here Comes the Pain. I could find endless fun in both games. I love both games as well. But, we can only pick one game, and I think I will have to go with Super Mario World. I can re-play this game over and over and still never tire of it. What about you?

  6. This is kind of old news, but I didn't see any discussion about it anywhere. There has been news that the gaming channel, G4, is going to make a comeback in 2021. Will it come back as a network and air on TV? Or will it be a YouTube channel producing content? Would you subscribe to this channel if it comes back on the air? What kind of programming do you think they will produce? I figure X-play and Attack of the show will be their top shows. But what else do you see them doing?

More details on the channel can be found at this article here: The Hollywood Reporter

  7. I would like to one day build a gaming PC for older games, like DOS for example. Has anyone here ever done that themselves? I want to build a cheap Windows XP machine and install a bunch of classic PC games on it. I would make a new PC, but I want to make a PC as it was back in the 90s, just to get that nostalgia feeling.

What do you guys think? Have you ever built an old PC for gaming? How much did it cost you?

Docking ability aside, how is the Switch not a handheld?

Apart from that, I think after seeing the success of the Switch, Nintendo is probably moving to a portable/handheld market. Possibly entirely, and leaving Xbox and PlayStation to duke it out over home consoles.

Do you think we'll ever see a new DS/3DS console? Or will the switch be their new handheld from here on out?

In a word, overheating.  repeated electrical loading and unloading of the CPU, GPU and RAM would cause these components to repeatedly heat up and cool down.  As this happens the solder used to connect these to the main board would sometimes fracture under the stress and eventually disconnect, and bingo, "Red Ring of Death".

Lots of people seemed to single out microsoft and their design of the XBox 360 and it got quite a reputation for it which is a bit unfair.  The truth is this was a fairly common failure in other consoles (I mentioned the PS3’s I went through) and various Laptop and desktop computers as well even to this day.  They seem to have improved the cooling systems so thankfully it’s not as common in the XBox One and PS4 as it was last gen.

I wouldn't say they were singled out. The PS3 had their fair share of problems, but the 360 was on another level. Microsoft took a major hit when this issue came up, as they had to extend warranties for mostly all those consoles, as well, each repair was free if it truly was a RROD issue. I think they ended up extending the warranty by like 1-2 years or so. Which is why I was able to get my console repaired multiple times. I think MS at the time, lost billions of dollars because of it.

Current gen and some of the last gen consoles are better made and much more reliable.

  10. Played it a ton back in the day. I wish they still produced games regularly, but it's no longer popular enough. I tried playing a game called Clone Hero for PC, which is a free guitar hero clone, where I guess you can use your own music, or download a pack of free music. Sadly, the difficulty curve is tough, because I was only able to find a few songs under easy and medium. The rest are like meant for pro players or something.

It's fun playing GH with friends though. I still have my 360 guitar.

  11. So Apex Legends kind of came out of nowhere a while back, and now days, I don't hear much about it at all. Is there even an esports scene for Apex legends? I remember I'd go days where I hear Apex Legends this, Apex legends that, but it's mostly COD, Fortnite and others taking the top spot.

Can Apex Legends make a comeback with the esports side of things?

  12. Great review! 🙂 I watched a play through of it myself, and I thought the story was decent. Nothing spectacular by any means, but it wasn't as bad as fans were making it out to be. I am not a big fan of Abby though, and the reason why would probably be a big spoiler, so I can't say it here.

you guys should add spoiler tags to the forum, so we can talk in more detail about the game/story here.

  13. I have at least one controller per console. I think the most controllers I have for one console, is the Xbox One with like 5 controllers, the N64, I have like 3 controllers. I also have NES, SNES, Sega Saturn, some PC controllers and others possibly.

  14. Does anyone here use a controller add-on for their phones in order to play certain mobile games easier? I know COD mobile, pubg mobile and fortnite mobile could benefit from using a controller add-on. I want to get one for my phone and see if it actually gives me an advantage. Do you guys have any suggestions for controller add-ons?

  15. I would love to try doing some esporting events, but I doubt I have the skill to actually make it through the whole competition. I figure I would maybe get defeated the first round, but who knows, maybe I can actually compete with some of the best. If I were to ever compete, I think I'd play some Modern Warfare. Even though I like to think I'm good, I don't see myself winning any championships.

    Could you?

  16. I played pretty much every Hitman game aside from the very first one in the series. I've been playing Hitman 2 for a while now and have been having fun with it. Sadly, I wish there was more story to this one, as it feels a bit short in comparison to other Hitman games. I'm probably going to replay it and just mess around and get creative with my kills.

Anyway, who here is a fan of the series? What game is your favorite? Blood Money is my favorite to this day.

I used to have a Sonic action figure, but I gave to a child of my cousin.

That reminds me, I had a couple Sonic figures back then. Almost forgot about them. I think I even had some Sonic shoes back then, and I remember being more into the little patch that came with it lol.

  18. I would have to say the most recent Battlefield games. I liked Battlefield 1, but then Battlefield V came along and things got worse. I would include Fortnite in there, mainly because of the building mechanics. It really gets on my nerves sometimes. You really need to be good at both in order to succeed and I just can't get good enough. 😞

  19. That's a good question. The best gaming deal I remember getting was like 5 or 10 years ago. I went to a garage sale at a family friends house, and got a couple SNES games (The Legend of Zelda: The link to the past) and forgot the rest. Got a couple SNES controllers and a few other games, all for like $10. I probably could have gotten an N64 and a few other NES games, but I didn't jump for it as I didn't have much more cash on me at the time.

Looks like more "Live Service" trash to me, which is a shame because Crystal Dynamics is a bloody good developer.  Then there's the aforementioned Sony platform exclusive Spiderman bullshit.  Much like Anthem this is going to a waste of good talent and license as well.

I agree. But I have a feeling it's going to do fine. The spider-man thing is a major blow, it makes Sony look childish. Especially considering that Spider-Man has been on an Xbox console, so them pinning him to just the PS4 version, seems pretty lame to me.

I don't agree with them adding characters later either. It just shows they care about the money. Why not just have the whole avengers crew?

  21. The last Handheld that Nintendo made, I think was the Nintendo 2DS, but I may be wrong. Either way, we haven't had anything newer than the 3DS. When do you think we'll see the next Nintendo handheld?

I suppose you could argue that the switch is their new handheld, but I don't agree with that. I guess the Switch Lite may be their current one, but I still would love to see a new DS console at some point. Do you think that'll happen? Or will it be Switch from here on out?
