I just want to thank each and every one of you for your contributions to VGR in 2021.
I am giving away 1 digital copy of COD Vanguard for Playstation, 3 digital copies of Battlefield 2042 for Playstation, and 2 digital copies of Battlefield 2042 for Xbox. All codes are for the Ultimate Edition for the respective game. If you're interested, simply reply with your desires. What are some of the earliest isometric games you can remember playing? When I was a kid playing an original Nintendo, the only one I remember encountering was Solstice. But I figure it could not have been the only one of its kind even back then?

This doesn't have to be anything tangible. It doesn't have to be a game, or online subscription to Game Pass or anything. It just has to be related to gaming.
For me, it came from @Rain Dew a couple days ago. She got me one of the greatest gifts I have ever received in my life. She was on Cameo, and she bought me a shout out from Roger Clark, aka Arthur Morgan. I got a video message from Arthur Morgan. I was in a stunned silence for over two hours. I eventually ended up throwing up. The shock was almost more than I could believe. I actually told her the next morning that I had dreamed it. She told me it was real and we watched the video again. Since then I have watched it over and over. I still can't believe it that I got a message from Arthur Morgan himself. He talked to me in his real voice and as Arthur. He gave me some tips on voice acting, which is something I'm really wanting to get into. It's still mind blowing.

For those that work, if you didn’t have to, would you game more each day or the same amount of time?

Difficult to say. Being part of team of dozens, hundreds or even thousands working on a single project makes it difficult to apricate the overall challenge of the project in question. I was hired as an apprentice in preparation for the construction of Queen Elizabeth-class aircraft carrier and that was a huge undertaking overall and I personally worked on it for almost ten years.

To quote from a poem I wrote:
Sometimes I wonder why I do the things that I do? Why do I make the choices that I make? Why do I live the way that I live?

Personally for me, it's the history behind the location that makes it stick with me for a very long time even years after playing the games. 

What video game on average crosses your mind the most over a long period of time, adjusting for games you might think of more just because you are playing them at the moment? For me, it is still BioShock Infinite.

This forum isn't going anywhere. It's @DC's baby. I'm pretty sure he worked his ass off building it and getting traffic to it.

I have no problem with a cinematic experience in games, in fact I prefer to have long and deep cutscenes.
What you describe however is when the game randomly takes control out of the player's hands for a minute then suddenly releases it. I hate when they do that too. The line between gameplay and cinematic should be clear and defined. The worst offenders are games where the cinematic starts to play and during these I usually relax and release the controls, then BAM suddenly a QTE is on the screen.

If the grammer and style was inspired by anything I'd say it's a small character from Star Trek Voyager.  Dr Chaotica, who appears in a few episodes as the arch nemesis in Tom Paris' holodeck program "Captain Proton".  He is sort of a parody character from 50's sci-fi villains.

Yeah, I have already done the math and know for sure that if the forum keeps up at this pace, it wouldn't pass Fall 2022 to hit the mark of 20k members.

Congratulations @The Blackangel! That is cool indeed. Both you and @Shagger would make a great moderating team. We just got over a hundred new members cause I know I checked a couple days ago. So for those feeling the water, jump on in! 

I think Fall 2022 is a good timeframe for 20,000 members. I also think by then the forum will have over 200,000 posts, based on how we are currently growing. Very exciting!

I have some big announcements to make today. First of all, we just hit another impressive milestone—15,000 members! I want to give a shout out to all of you who have become a part of the VGR family, especially our frequent contributors. Together, you have made this one of the friendliest and most engaging forums around.
Next, I want to welcome @The Blackangel as our second moderator (and thanks again, @Techno, for recommending we get one)! The Blackangel has been with us for more than three years now. During all of that time, I can’t even remember a week where she wasn’t active and involved.
We can always count on The Blackangel for detailed, insightful replies to members’ threads—plus she is one of our classic gaming experts. Moreover, her passion for this forum shines through in everything she does, and I know she is going to bring that enthusiasm to her work as a moderator every day. Congratulations, The Blackangel!
The Blackangel joins @Shagger, who became our first moderator in August 2020. Like The Blackangel, Shagger has specialized in engaging, in-depth discussion. Since becoming a moderator, he has done an incredible job keeping topics organized, quickly defusing potential conflicts, and keeping everything running smoothly for our community. Thank you so much for all of your ongoing hard work, Shagger! I just know you and The Blackangel are going to do amazing things together.
Both our 15,000 member milestone and our second moderator are signs of how much VGR forum has grown over the course of 2021. Thank you all again for the role you have played in making this community the welcoming haven for gamers that it is, and for all you will do to make VGR continue to grow and flourish as we head into 2022.

First off, a few little notes so I don't get in any sort of trouble.
1. I am not asking to be a moderator, I am merely giving my opinion on something.
2. Shagger has been a very good moderator, he is easily one of the most professional and chill moderators I've seen. This not not meant to be any sot of attack on him or his moderation.
3. I have not had any problems with anyone here. I am merely stating my personal opinion.
This forum has been one of the most chilliest and kindest forums I have been one, but as the forum heads into 15k members I have realized something. We may have great moderation, but I think it would be best if we get a second moderator. I don't want DC and Shagger to be overwhelmed by spammers, raiders, or trolls. I think one more moderator would be very good for the forum. A second moderator would be able to help DC and Shagger when drama breaks out, and when there are raids.
How should they be picked, well I think it should be up to DC for that, he owns the forum, he should get to choose.

That's interesting, I know it wouldn't remain the same because it's a freelance job. I believe your skill in covering video game write-ups makes you ends meet, right? 

Oh! It can vary a lot. It depends on how much video game content I write on any given month, which varies with VGR's demand. I freelance in other niches as well to keep my overall income stream consistent.
