When you are playing a new game, do you research when to play DLCs, or do you just guess?

That's a good question. I sometimes do some things that I wouldn't otherwise do just to get the attached achievement or reward, but there are lines I do not cross.

Why do so few games feature climbable ladders? Is it because they tend to be especially buggy or something? (I know this was a problem in The Outer Worlds, a rare game with climbable ladders—companions would climb them out into space during dialogue with other followers, and then promptly die) Or is there some other issue with them? It does not seem like it should be a difficult thing to include in games, and yet apparently it is.

I bought @Rain Dew this exact kind of chair a few years ago, and she loves it. It's not any theme or anything, it's just blue and black colored. But the design of the chair is identical. So I can confirm that they're really comfortable. The two pillows on it can be annoying as hell, depending on how you angle the chair to use it. But otherwise we have no issues whatsoever with it.

It's hard to think of specifics--I don't think I have anything as cool as @Reality vs Adventure's reply. But maybe standing at the docks at the Citadel in Mass Effect 3, looking out the window at the Normandy.

I thought about it, that if staceypowers entered this contest it would've been straightforward for her. Since, she wants to read our threads too, let's try as much as we can to create quality threads to make this contest a blissful one. And generate plenty threads to read from.

Find a small village and live a quiet, peaceful life. This day and age is too hectic and obsessed with money. I’m waiting for air to be taxed. Go back 500 years and things were different. No less difficult, but there were no car payments, no power bills, no insurance premiums, no internet bills. The lack of technology meant that the things to worry about were things that were actually important. Food, water, shelter, etc.

I would like to figure out a way to come up with a game where every tiny little detail, almost down to which blades of grass you’re standing on, alter the flow and outcome of the game. Something where no matter how many times you play it, it is literally 100% impossible to play the same game twice.
But something that big and that random, would be next to impossible. Even the landscape between plays would be different.

I love how you explained it with Joel and Ellie--that's another great interpretation. And it connects well with the Buffy example.

lol. Not really what I was getting at. More like ... the soundtrack was an expression of his state of mind prior to that event--like, we're on a mission/epic quest. But then it's silent when it's just a man searching for his surrogate daughter, who doesn't care anymore about the mission.

What are some moments in video games where the absence of soundtracking itself makes a statement? For example, this happens in TLOU when Joel is looking for Ellie at one point, and I feel it conveys how focused and desperate he is.
