StaceyPowers got a reaction from Crazycrab in The Last of Us Part II
If you can't perceive the timeless brilliance of Tetris' plot and characters, you just aren't paying attention. The L-shape is my favourite, out to destroy every attempt to construct greatness. A mastermind villain. And poor zigzag always tries to help--but it's too little, too late =D

StaceyPowers reacted to ARx182 in What in-game events have made you angriest/emotionally invested?
The Travis Scott concert on Fortnite was really cool. It didn’t make me emotional but I really enjoyed the music so in a sense it may have. It was a brilliant idea by Epic Games. Would love to see something like it again!

StaceyPowers reacted to skyfire in Games that changed your perception of other games
If you see the games like Resident Evil and the DOOM over the years. Your journey from back to now would tell you how much you enjoyed along the way. Games have came a long way.

StaceyPowers reacted to Demon_skeith in Games that changed your perception of other games
The uncharted series is opening me up to more super natural like gun fighting combat, I'll think I'll explore other games now like the Last of Us.

StaceyPowers reacted to The Blackangel in Games that changed your perception of other games
As I have said many times, FF8 opened my world. I started playing other sci-fi-ish types of games which led me further down the rabbit hole. If I had never played FF8, I would probably still be close minded as hell when it comes to gaming.

StaceyPowers got a reaction from Knight Plug in The Last of Us Part II
That would be awesome if you did that! And indeed, it can be really hard for me to try and explain what I liked or disliked about a game without going into spoiler details regarding plot and characters in most cases.

StaceyPowers reacted to Shagger in Life Is Strange
Lift is Strange is one of those games that is undeniably brilliant, but you have to know what you're in for. It's not actually what I would a "game", I would describe it as an interactive narrative. There're some aspects of exploration and problem solving, but it's mostly guiding the character through a scripted story with choices to make that affect where the story goes. I won't spoil anything, but it's a superb story. I definitely prefer the first LIS over the prequel BTS for reasons that I can't really explain without spoiling them, but it's up to you in the end how you feel.
If you bought the games on disk, the'll be complete, so don't worry.

StaceyPowers got a reaction from ARx182 in Games you are insanely good at
I cannot honestly claim to be insanely good at any video game. I am just glad I am past the days of my youth where I was insanely bad at almost every game I tried.

StaceyPowers reacted to The Blackangel in Video games: Escapism, dealing with your problems, or both?
That's not entirely true. For a misanthropic introvert, human interaction is actually a bad thing. Add sociopathy on to that, and the further we are from people the better. That's why almost every form of relationship I have is strictly online. I can count the number of people that I actually care about on one hand. But all they have to do is fuck me once, and the number goes down. People get only one chance with me. Once that chance is blown they never get another one. And I will haunt them until I have ruined them.
Never Forgive.
Never Forget.

StaceyPowers reacted to ARx182 in What games have been on your to-play list for the longest but you still haven’t played?
I’ve heard great things about Red Dead Redemption 2. I even have the game (since it came out) but just haven’t had the chance to play the game, even in lockdown. I really need to play RDR2 soon!

As for why I haven't played them, I honestly don't know. I just never got around to trying them out. I had every intention when I bought them, but for some reason I've never tried them. I think it's because, for the most part, I'm just trying to eat up time with something I'm familiar with, and never got off my ass to try something new. Chock that up to laziness I guess. There's a couple that I've played once or twice, so I didn't put them on the list.

StaceyPowers reacted to The Blackangel in Why are gamers so interested in review scores?
The only way to know if a game is worth it is to play it. The world may hate it, but that should have no affect on whether you give it a shot or not.
Like I said, I have (and love) several LJN games.

StaceyPowers reacted to Shagger in Compatibility
Have you tried an emulator? DosBox is a good DOS emulator that even GOG.com use to run DOS games they sell on their store, maybe you could give that a try?

StaceyPowers reacted to The Blackangel in Has anyone won a game of poker in RDR without cheating?
The game I'm referring to is the one at the station that the reverend got wasted at. I sat down there and let them drink all they wanted. After they were "titty much protally fitshaced", I beat them in every hand.

StaceyPowers reacted to The Blackangel in You must reincarnate as a character in any game you have played. Whose life will you choose and why?
Meyna is the mother in Legacy Of The Wizard on NES. She has the ability to use any magical item to aid her on her part of the quest for the 4 crowns, and also has the ability to fly. She isn't the strongest physically, but she is more or less the smartest.
Sorry. It never occurred to me to explain who she is.

StaceyPowers reacted to The Blackangel in Games you are bad at
If you're interested in finding FP games to try, and are into medieval games, you should check out Hexen. It's designed and set up just like Doom, but it's a medieval take on it. I was never the biggest fan of the art style myself, but when I came across Hexen, I loved it.

StaceyPowers reacted to The Blackangel in Protagonists you hate
The entire crew in Star Fox (SNES). They bitch and moan all the time and offer no help whatsoever. They complain when an enemy is on their ass, yet when I shoot it down they yell back that they didn't need my help. And if I do nothing they bitch that I didn't help them. Also half the time when I shoot something down, one of them claims that it was their ship to shoot down. You can't win with those assholes.
And don't even get me started on any Zelda game with a fucking owl in it.
-
StaceyPowers reacted to The Blackangel in Does anyone here make mods?
If I'm understanding this topic right, I used to make my own items for Diablo, and Diablo 2. I never bought anything after I started doing that. I just scripted them how I wanted them, and kicked ass when I went in.
-
StaceyPowers reacted to The Blackangel in Games you finished fastest
I got through Zelda (NES) in about 2 hours, initially. I can probably do it quicker now. I did Zelda 2 (NES) in somewhere between 5-6 hours. I don't remember. It's been a while since I played it. Links Awakening is another that is short as hell, and beatable in about the same amount of time as the first Zelda. That's all I'm going to list for games with a save feature or I would be going all day.
Restart games (as I call them) would include
NES---
Contra
Kings Knight
Punch Out
SNES---
Earthworm Jim 2
Legend Of The Mystical Ninja
Star Fox
N64---
Hexen
Also tons on GameBoy. Too many to list. Castlevania SOTN is beatable in just 2-2½ hours if you're not going for fancy items. Obviously if you are, then that adds time to how long it takes you to beat it.

StaceyPowers reacted to Shagger in What side do you prefer in the Skyrim Dawnguard DLC?
Vampires are sentient and in full control of their impulses in this game as far as I can tell. Because of that, you can't fully blame their actions on instinct or a beastly nature alone, there is a conscience making their act's of violence a choice. The Vigilants of Stendarr and the Dawngaurd, whilst justified in their level of hatred for Vampires, I don't think are justified in their reasons why. Yes, Vampires murder, but it seems the Vigilants reasons are more religious than moral and that makes me think that's what's really getting in the way and forcing vampires to live as hunters and vagrants.
No, a Vampires actions in this game cannot be justified, but can they be explained by the fact that this society has left them with no choice? There're humans in the game just as, if not more brutal, merciless and senseless in their violent actions. The Dawnguard are doing the right thing by trying to eradicate the threat, but I can't help but feel there's an even better option that neither side would be willing to accept
For the game, I feel the path in support of the Vampire is more interesting, but that's just me.

StaceyPowers got a reaction from Shagger in What game had you excited and went beyond your expectations?
I have been curious about this game since reading a bit about it a few months back, and your review is amazing, detailed, and definitely enough to convince me that this needs to be on my to-play list.
This post from you absolutely made my week, my month, maybe my year as a member of this community. It is very rare to see this kind of gracious, thoughtful, fair and balanced outlook and interaction from someone in an online forum. You and @The Blackangel are both a big part of what makes this place special.

StaceyPowers reacted to Shagger in What game had you excited and went beyond your expectations?
I respect you too much to lie to you, so I'll give it to you straight. You're haven't been an easy person to interact with on these forums. It does take a very deliberate amount of patience to do so. However, you are, with all due respect to our other members, the most inspiring and enjoyable person to interact with here. You're unique, amazing and witty beyond compare. You have spoken of your "demons" before, and it was my previous experience of playing Hellbade that helped teach me to interact with people who face these challenges and regard them with a new level of respect. Still, we all carry a certain amount of ignorance and if that brought me to a point where I said something to hurt you then please accept my apology. Your amazing and wonderful, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
I don't feel right knowing you plan to pawn something to buy this game, so please DM me about that and I would be honoured to help. That's not out of sympathy, it's just what feels right for me. Consider it a “Thank You”.
