It's absolutely allowed to thank someone. But this is technically the wrong thread to do it on. Either way, no one is going to have a problem with it. @Shagger also helped me out A LOT when I was promoted. I also want to thank him again for his help.

Congratulations to VGR, for this latest milestone of 18,000 registered members. I am also happy with you DC, because you're working so hard to grow VGR to become so big, and you aren't far from that.
Congratulations to our latest moderator @Withywarlock, we want to see more witty and thoughtful posts from you, just as you've been doing, and your role as a mod.

@Withywarlock and @Yaramaki are established and longtime contributors of VGR. They both have been on our watchlist for some time and were vetted extensively by @Shagger.  Four moderators is appropriate given VGR's member count and post total and the overall exponential growth the community has seen over the past 4-6 months. Each of the four moderators are well qualified and deserving of their respective role. Furthermore, having a robust and experienced moderation team allows me to direct more time and resources to continuing to attract new members and grow the community.

    Hey everyone,
Today I have a couple of exciting announcements for you. The first is that VGR Forum now has more than 18,000 members! I am deeply grateful to each and every one of you who have contributed to VGR growing into such a tremendously successful community.
My second big announcement is that @Withywarlock has been promoted to become our fourth moderator! He joins @Yaramaki, who was recently promoted, along with @The Blackangel and @Shagger.
Withywarlock has long contributed thoughtful, detailed comments to VGR forum, keeping conversations going and spurring new ones with his insights. He also does a great job making us laugh with his witty observations.
It is a rare privilege to have a forum grow this much while still retaining its loyal core of members and such a welcoming, friendly atmosphere. Each of our moderators has played a huge part in making that happen, and I know Withywarlock will do a phenomenal job in his new role. Congratulations, Withywarlock, and thank you!
Thank you to all of our members for being a part of the VGR family. I am so happy with what we have built here together.

As an update, he and Jorge Mendes (his agent) and Alex Ferguson have are all at Man United this morning to have some talks about this. Jorge Mendes and Ronaldo are still pushing for a transfer and the latest team mentioned is Atletico Madrid which their fans don't want him either so let's see how this goes.

I figured it was probably about time we had a dedicated Motorsport thread on VGR, so here it is!

Feel free to discuss Formula 1, Moto GP, NASCAR, Indy Car, Le Mans, Rally, whatever you want past, present or future.

The only thing I'd ask is that you keep any conversation about racing video games down to a minimum as there are other threads in the gaming section for them already and of course abide by the regular forum rules.

    That's good to know.
You could some day play professional football for some of the big leagues in the world if you work hard at improving your game.
There have been quite a good number of players from Africa to rise to the professional football ranks and I am pretty sure you can become one of them.

My cat would sit on my laptop when I played games at my mum's. Or more appropriately on my wrist. In the middle of a dungeon in World of Warcraft. Maybe she liked my Feral Druid's cat form roaming around in lush jungles?

It was in the past, at this time I don't have any pet that stays around me while I am playing video games. When I was a kid, my dad's dogs love being around me while playing PS2 games and they love the soundtracks in the game, they roll their body around while the tracks are playing, 😂.

You can have some of them checked out on this site Here . I stumbled across it a while back, so I had to look it up and was able to find it once again. Update me if anyone of the cheats that have there worked for you.
    Good luck mate.

The only social media platform that I see being capable of doing that would be on Discord. As for any other platform outside discord, they have got too much noise that's going to make it very difficult to have a gaming faction that's going to be targeting such goals. Even doing it on discord have its own challenges too.

Since i've got a report for this, can we please keep the Football talk into the sports section and not here, you've got the entire sports section for that to discuss football , consider this a friendly reminder and warning to stay on topic.

That's not what happened at all.  He claims it was consensual but addmited to using methaqualone for "casual sex" with woman many years his junior.  Then in 2018 he was found guilty and convicted of 3 counts of aggravated indecent assault and sentenced to 3 years in prison.  This was overturned by the supreme court because of some legal technicalities, NOT because he was later found innocent of any of alleged victims were caught lying.

Seriously @killamch89, what it wrong with you lately?  First you blatantly insult woman in sports and now you're defending someone who is at bare minimum an old creep who drugs young woman and a serial rapist at worst.  I liked Bill Cosby as a kid but it doesn't mean I'm going to defend him now!

What a boring pattern of football. I never fell in love with Chelsea FC's football style, so dull and uninspiring. Winning the UEFA champions league that year was a complete miracle for the team, they didn't expect such luck, because they can't tell me it came from good football, because their opponents outplayed them in every aspects. Same happened as they clinched their second UEFA champions league, many considered them as clear underdog heading to the final against City.

I think it would stop, it's just that protests usually run out of steam and ultimately people buy the products they're protesting against anyway. See this tired old chestnut. I won't lie, I've long given up on the idea of protesting and boycotting because I can neither get people to rally under the same banner nor find someone else's banner to rally under. Reviewbombing has become the only means of slacktivism that seems to affect change, or more recently taking to Twitter whenever someone in the industry brings up NFTs (so far, so good: Team17 and Troy Baker have had their projects laughed into oblivion).
There have been successful backlashes against DLC practice such as the infamous Horse Armour debacle, which led to The Shivering Isles and other astounding DLC being made for Oblivion and future games. It's just a shame that it wasn't enough in terms of industry-wide effect, and it singlehandedly brought down whatever optimism there was for DLC going forward.
As said earlier this probably isn't something game development studios want to do. Publishers such as Electronic Artsholes, SEGA, 2K et al get away with telling their studios to carve up the content because people decided they'd pay for it rather than take a stand. Just about the only DLC being carved up I stand against these days is Total War's added gore effects, but those are sold in the justification of bringing down the age rating of the base game (even then, that's still thin ice). See also House Party's adult content once being free, no longer as it's out of Early Access. At least House Party is self-published, so its developers will see all of the money once Steam takes its cut.
You've said yourself why it makes sense: because they can rip people off without any effectual backlash. The lines between carving up a game and 'supporting' it however are blurring, with Paradox and Slitherine being publishers who make great platforms which are built up with quality DLC.
The power to do something about this exists and I firmly believe it to be as plain as day, but when it's time to exercise it that's easier said than done. Furthermore, the window of time to act upon that power is swiftly closing as people get older, and newer gamers enter the industry not knowing (or caring) about a time when games were almost entirely feature complete sans updates, patches, and additional content.

This act of them wouldn't stop anytime, even if gamers do wide protest, video game studios will always do whatever pleases to them. It doesn't make sense to leave games half - done and keep ripping customers off through DLCs/patches.

When i first came here it was to talk about videogames, one thing that was immediately clear to me this is the messageboard i have been looking for years, fellow posters welcomed me when i first joined up like i have been here for years. Everybody is so open and genuine   there is no hate and jealousy towards eachother wheter or not somebody has a different oppinion it doesen't end up in a flame war. I may consider myself more video game collector then gamer these days but being part of vgr has worked miracles like getting stoked again on current gen gaming and actually being encouraged to play games that are way out of my zone.
I also want to thank @DC, @Shagger and @The Blackangel for their faith and trusting me with this task, i'll try my utmost best to be the best mod i possible can, so if there is ever anything you possibly think i could help out with wheter it's board related or not, do not hestitate to send me a pm.
Also thanks to all of you guys the entire community for being the way you are, we may not always agree with eachother but let's keep doing what we do best and make vgr the best place it possible can be.

Fair weather friends are useless. They'll never have your back, they'll talk shit when you're not around, and they will even rob you. I know all that from experience. So if they're fake, give them the boot. If they're down to roll with you, keep them around. You need someone who's going to have your back, not someone who's looking for the right place to stick a knife.

Lukaku never got a fair chance at chelsea in his first spell at chelsea and expectations were way too high when he came back also at man utd he was also under appreciated like who in the right mind is going to pick rashford over lukaku oh wait solskjar did and he has as much knowledge of football then my parents which is exactly none. Yeah i wouldn't be surprised Lukaku bangs in 30+ goals for inter milan next season, dude is out for bloodlust and will want to prove tuchel wrong they dumped him again.
i never understood why you would want to play for chelsea anyway yeah sure money makes up a lot but especially as a youngster why would you want to sign for chelsea since the chances you're going to make it to the first team are next to none, if you've got a long contract be prepared to live inside a suitcase because it's going to loan after loan.
Needless to say they dumped players like De bryne, salah and nathan aké who never even got a fair chance at chelsea maybe it was mourinho his fault but come on at a normal run club that would have never happened. Hell they even dumped Declan Rice when he was 14 years old.

Justin11 reacted to Yaramaki in How do you feel about games that are hundreds of hours long?
I've completed Ghost of tsushima a couple of years ago, unless you are skipping a lot of side missions (why would you do that because they are great) it toke me around 35 hours to get the platinum trophy!
Woulden't know about Gta v it's story i completed the story mode a third time( the ps5/series x version) this time, probably more around 60 hours and i've yet to buy any businesses and do the assinations to manipulate the stock market and i've never been able to buy the golf club in my 2 previous playtrough so this is still on my to do list. Gta v is one those rare games that they could give you extra story missions that would last another 60 hours and it still woulden't get boring.

I mean Serie A is levels below La Liga, Epl and Bundesliga. Do you notice that most Serie A teams always do poorly in Europe. For instance, last year, AC Milan - the league champions dropped out of Europe after finishing last in their group. Inter Milan in the round of 16 in the Champions League, Napoli in the Europa League and Juventus in the round of 16 against a mediocre Villareal. The only team that did anything in Europe this season was Roma and they won the Conference League (European 3rd tier but still...).
