The slogan should be "Friends by Choice, Companion by Force".

This is my problem with it. It was great back in the day, but these days it just makes the game look old, and I am more enamored by the latest and the greatest in technology and graphics.

You definitely should. I know it gets tiresome near the end with ultima and his primo-genesis shenanigans but the finale is absolutely bonkers! You won't regret it.
FF7 rebirth definitely looks like an improvement from remake since its not on rails anymore. But I will be getting granblue fantasy relink instead which launches the same month.

I'm bouncing back and forth between FF8 and RDR2. Two games that I absolutely love. I've been playing the epilogue, trying to get all the challenges done. I have a couple completed, but I still have a lot to do and a lot of stranger missions to finish.

I agree with Anders.I think of cult games as being obscure but have a small but passionate base. I'm part of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. cult.
COD battlefield, etc. are fine but I wouldn't call 'em cult games.

Haven't heard someone mention that game in ages. I remember watching the anime adaptation back in the days as well - it was quite good.

NightmareFarm got a reaction from killamch89 in What is your biggest gaming hot take?
I'll just copy paste an entire thread I wrote about a game a while back
Hot take: Ghostrunner is the greatest game of all time
    - Follows a traditional linear level based encounter to encounter format(like DMC for example) without frequent forced slow walking which is a rarity in modern games

    - Game systems are very straightforward. Combat mostly boils down to dodge, jump, slash, dash, air dash, use your power making it easy to get into whilst simultaneously having a VERY high skill ceiling. Customising your perks is pretty simple, you just place upgrade tetris blocks" into this box and the amount of upgrades you can have are limited by how much space is left to fit in new blocks.

    - No live service bullshit, the only DLC released is project HEL and a few skins for the sword but that's about it

    - Unique, satisfying combat which constantly keeps you on the edge of your seat like no other game. You die in one hit whilst having to dodge lasers and enemies everywhere in high speed action. Like DOOM eternal but you can't shoot(which makes it even more high risk and intense).

    - Varied and challenging enemy design

    - Level design is very engaging and stage gimmicks(like slow down or shuriken power ups) are implemented in fun ways which require precise timing and spice things up but aren't overdone to the point of exhaustion.

    - Movement is incredibly fun where you grapple, slide, wall run everywhere at high speeds.

    - Speaking of which, wall running exists and has no limitations. You can wall run on pretty much anything. In fact the game was BUILT around speedrunners doing crazy skips/sequence breaks with wall running.

    - You instantly respawn after death which keeps you constantly in the action

    - Killer synthwave soundtrack

    - Cool cyberpunk authoritarian dystopia aesthetic/setting

    - No cutscenes that break the flow of the game but instead exposition and dialogue happens as you explore through each level

    - Engaging storyline where you are thrown in the middle of a rebel coup as a cyborg who has just been woken up and gradually learn more and more about what's going on and how things became the way they are in the dystopia.

I'm still wondering what the hell happened to Deep Down. Capcom have a habit of hyping up games, especially new IP's, with awesome trailers and details about how awesome it'll be then we just never hear about them again.

I found this video on the subject with what is the latest from a few weeks ago:

Still playing Red alert 2 a lot, but have recently started experimenting with map creation. I played and reviewed Ravenlok through Gamepass recently. A beaautiful game, but with some serious problem with difficulty and combat. Check out the review here if you so wish. Other games I've been playing include World of Warships, Atomic Heart, A Plague Tail: Requiem (Reviewed that one as well, it's superb), Horizon: Forbitten West and Hogwarts Legacy to name a few.

Welcome back mate - I'm in between Pokemon Sword, Metroid Prime Remake, Hogwarts Legacy (have cut back in the past week or so) and Dead Space Remake at the moment. There are some other games in between but everybody probably knows which games those are...

    Welcome back.
Most people are concentrating on AAA games. Games like TLOU, RDR2, GTA, Skyrim, and others. Me personally I'm still playing my classic systems. Right now, I have my N64 hooked up and have been playing Zelda OoT. I've been dipping in and out of RDR2, but not as much as usual as I've kinda burnt out on it.

That's the first time I heard that phrase, but I looked it up and it means:
Wiktionary def: (Internet slang, sarcastic) A notional political party supported by people who ignore or downplay its cruel, unjust, or extreme policies and rhetoric, and are then shocked or displeased when these policies and rhetoric have adverse consequences to themselves.
"'I never thought leopards would eat MY face,' sobs woman who voted for the Leopards Eating People's Faces Party."
    @NightmareFarm nailed this one!
