3rd male in a row 😛 .

Yeah, I was present for the end of the LEGO Drome Racing Challenge, in 2007.
It sucked, but I get why they did it... abuse and cheating was rampant, and the game itself looked heavily outdated by then anyway.

I expect they'll still be around in some form. I don't know whether they'll still be called video games (I suppose it's possible that TV and movies will become more interactive, and eventually merge with games), but I'm pretty sure they'll still exist.

The Sims 4. My youngest Sim just became a toddler, although he hasn't caused any chaos yet... he's just too tired 😛 .

Yeah, I find it's dark enough for me. Perhaps it's not entirely realistic - but IMO, it's an acceptable break from reality. If you make it 'realistically' dark. then it'll be frustrating for most players, since they won't be able to see half of what's going on.

Well, I hope flexible screens will become more reliable and affordable... I find the small screen sizes to be rather limiting (especially when browsing the internet on my phone), and a folding screen would increase the size while maintaining the mobility.

What kind of games are you into? Do you have a preferred system from any particular generation?
My favourites are strategy and puzzle games, although I'll also play RPGs sometimes (particularly the open-world ones).
As for my preferred system... practically all of my gaming is on the PC 😛 .

Yes, I have... fortunately, it was only a minor spill, so the keyboard still worked after that!

I'm OK at reading the Greek and Russian alphabets - and when I watched Squid Game, I learned Hangul (the Korean alphabet), but I'm still not great at reading that 😛 .

Pretty much only my PC. I might be willing to try the occasional mobile game, but easily 99% of my gaming is done on the PC.

Eventually, I expect so.
I don't expect it'll come from the graphics: there will still be improvements in that area, but they'll be smaller and more incremental as the years go on. But we can't predict what the next major technological shift will be, that makes gameplay more immersive (perhaps the design of the controllers themselves will change to be more immersive?). And even if there are no big technological improvements, there will likely be cultural shifts of some kind, which will be reflected in the games themselves.

Go ahead and ask me questions :) !

As much as I love city-builders, I don't think a 'realistic' one would be much fun.
I always love remodelling my towns in my image, and bulldozing half the town to build the most efficient transport network I can. But if I tried that in the real world, my glorious plans would instantly run into a brick wall of opposition from NIMBYs. (Although, to be fair, I would be such a NIMBY if it was my house that was going to be bulldozed!!!)

Quite simply: as long as it needs to be 😛 . If it works best as a 5-minute game, then it should be made as a 5-minute game. If it works best as a 50-hour game, then it should be made as a 50-hour game.
But for a story-driven game, 20-30 hours is probably as long as it can be, without adding loads of filler.

At this point, probably... I don't watch many movies to begin with, but I think I watch more on Netflix than I do on TV (and certainly more than I do at theatres!)

Thanks for the welcomes, guys 🙂 !

The ability to sort trade routes in Civilization V by how much gold they'll make you:
Trade routes were added in the "Brave New World" expansion pack in 2013 - and, presumably, this has been in the game since then. However, I didn't notice it until January this year - so, about eight and a half years!

The Karate Kid Part II
(I actually watched Cobra Kai before watching any of the Karate Kid movies - so, for me, these are prequels 😆!)

Not really.
I was born in 1990, so my earliest memories are from the early-to-mid 1990s. At that point, the internet was in its infancy, and it hadn't yet made much of a cultural impact - but it certainly existed.
Nevertheless, I didn't get connected to the internet until around April 2000 - so I have about 6 years' worth of memories of an internet-free life 🙂 .

Hi guys!
I'm Kyng, otherwise known as CJ. I'm 31 years old; I live in the UK; and I work as a software developer. My hobbies and interests include railways, sports (especially Formula One); gaming (especially strategy games); and - of course - forumming!
I look forward to getting to know everyone here :) .

Good point - although, in truth, it's because I never really got into the habit of using my phone for much other than chatting and internet anyway 😛 .
