Honestly I would either wait to save up for a Series X or S, but you could also just stick to PC gaming since pretty much a good amount of games from Game Pass are on PC Game Pass already. Ultimately it's up to you, but I wouldn't bother getting a used Xbox One when the Series X and S dropped in price recently. (Well the Series X did at least, but the Series S is pretty cheap for modern consoles.)

I totally agree! This looks like a total blast! Like Cuphead, it's the animation style of the cartoons I watched as a kid, which is what has me playing Cuphead. Despite having never even made it past the first level.😋
So far is hasn't really been rage inducing for me yet, but I'm sure it will at some point. Just being able to play in those graphics is enough for me to not get pissed.

Second, peripherals are simply external devices one attaches and/or connects to a PC (or even a console) to enable specific functions. A keyboard or a mouse are peripherals, a controller is a peripheral. A display, like a TV, monitor or whatever is a peripheral. The remote for your TV or cable box is a peripheral.
 
When it comes to building PC's, some more specific advice is required. I'd do what I can for people, but to go though everything I know it would be inconveniently long for all off us. So, I'll offer instead a Q/A style thing on this thread. And not just me, I'm sure others will try thier best to help.. Ask, and I'm sure the community will do our best to answer.
 
The only stupid question is one that's never asked.

There's a lot of talk about this and that with people building their own PC's. Most of what they're talking about is something I personally have no clue what it is. And I'm sure I'm not the only one. So I'm going to pin this thread and see if it gains much traction. If it does, we'll keep it pinned. If not, we'll let it fall into the depths of the PC forum.
The first question is what the hell are peripherals?

Honestly I can see this happening to games too. This is why I believe that physical will always be the best option when it comes to owning games. I also like video game preservation, and games stuck on digital platforms in the future will be difficult to archive. Likewise when it comes to certain movies and shows, I like to have physical copies of the series or movie, you just never know when they'll be removed from certain streaming sites.

I can't write my own Javascript, but I can manipulate a prewritten JS to make it fit my needs. I've tried to teach myself, but it was a futile attempt.

I don't have FFXVI yet, but I do want to pick it up at some point. It looks promising to me. As long as it has a story mode and isn't an entirely online game the way FFXIV is.

For classic games, it's a tie between two for me. Blackthorne(SNES) and Conker's Bad Fur Day(N64). For the current gen games, it's just too hard to choose. But if I was forced to, I would want a sequel to FutureGrind(Switch) or Dante's Inferno(PS3). Something else I would love to see is a true sequel to FF8. But we all know that that's never going to happen.

I DO play Assassins Creed. AC3 is what initially got me into the series. Just because there’s one that I haven’t gotten to yet doesn’t mean I don’t play the franchise. I haven’t played every Zelda game, but I still play the hell out of the series. I haven’t played every entry in the Dark Pictures Anthology yet, but I still love it.
So just because I don’t rave about it all the time doesn’t mean I don’t play it.

I pick up a few things for @Rain Dew, despite her being hard as hell to buy for. Other than her I have no one to shop for.

I got it downloaded. We'll see how it goes. I'm just waiting to hear what @Reality vs Adventure has to say about this as he's a ginormous AC fan.

Great question! Going by what I'm seeing, it looks like it has to be played in the home. Like it's something that links to your PS5, but instead can only show you what your PS5 is doing. If you were wanting to play a game on it but want to do it from bed, you would have to find it, put your disc (if you didn't go strictly digital) get the machine booted up and logged in and then play. It's a lot of hassle if you ask me.

I see Squall's gunblade all over the place, and have had to fight the temptation as well. I do honestly plan on getting one at some point, just not right now. Cloud's sword would be impossible to get home if you're flying.

I was Nintendo exclusive for a long time. But as time went on, I started developing broader interests in gaming. Now I play on a broad range of systems. All the way from Atari 2600 to PS5.

If you could speak every language in the history of earth, (including the extinct languages) or play every musical instrument on earth, which would you choose?
While I absolutely love music, I would go with the languages. I can listen to music all day long, and it's often easier to learn a musical instrument than it is to learn a language. For example, would it be easier to learn to play a guitar or learn to speak Mandarin?

Something I’ve always liked about Nintendo is that they have the guts to try random and unique things, whereas other consoles tend to stick with the same thing. I mean the Switch is a hybrid system. The closest that has come before this was another Nintendo product. The Super Gameboy. Nintendo pretty much can’t be predicted. They couldn’t in the past, and considering that they have done just about everything, they damn sure can’t be predicted now.
But then again, I’ve always been a Nintendo chick anyway.

I'm bouncing back and forth between FF8 and RDR2. Two games that I absolutely love. I've been playing the epilogue, trying to get all the challenges done. I have a couple completed, but I still have a lot to do and a lot of stranger missions to finish.

I'll end up doing the same thing I do every year. Sitting at the computer with a can of corn.

This is interesting. I'm not the biggest Xbox player, but @Rain Dew is. So I'll bring this up to her (she'll most likely be all in) and see what she says. I'll encourage her to log in and reply herself, but she has a hectic schedule most days so it may be a brief time before she's able to.
As for me, I would definitely upgrade to the 1t console. It's twice the storage space, which can often be a massive help for people who run out of space often with their games. I'm upgrading to a 1t micro SSD card in my Switch when I get paid next month from the 512g card I'm using right now.
