I'd say retail but call center is even more degrading, though I guess they are both worst in their own way.

kingpotato reacted to Akun in The worst job
Handing out leaflets from block to block. I'm really not physically fit and handing them out fast to every single apartment everyday just isn't suitable for me. I prefer an office job (or at least just standing on a street corner and hand these things out without moving).
I've also worked McDonald's once. Quit after a day because the boss was a hardass. lol I don't really mind the dishwashing or even taking out the trash, but being pressured on the first day of my job wasn't something I was comfortable with, even as a teenager. My parents dished out enough verbal punishments on that front at home.

kingpotato reacted to Grungie in Latinx
I find that the irony of Latinx is that while a term created to be inclusive, is exclusive against the people it targets.
People who don’t speak Spanish created a term that is difficult to pronounce in Spanish.

kingpotato reacted to The Blackangel in Latinx
@kingpotato is Mexican if I remember correctly, so he could give a better insight to this. For me personally, I just refer to Hispanic people however they prefer. It's the same as everyone else. Unless it's something stupid, like unvaccinated people wanting to be called "purebloods". But it's kinda in the same boat as me asking people what their pronouns are. No two people are the same with their preferred terminology. And it's not limited to the Hispanic community. It's all in every community. I know a few other lesbians who find it funny as hell to be called a dyke. I would be enraged if anyone other than @Rain Dew was to call me a dyke. So it all boils down to the individual.

I have preordered it a few weeks ago and played the BETA. Still lots to do, but so far so good. Really like what they've got so far and the slide cancel / dolphin dive is hilarious.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners (takes place in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe) also looks pretty good as well.

kingpotato got a reaction from killamch89 in Do you feel like Netflix is producing more crap versus good quality programming?
Yes and no
I think it really depends, like for example on one end we have great shows like Castlevania, Arcane, stranger things but on the other hand we have shitty productions like the recent Resideng evil show or the death note adaptation
Basically Netflix has a lot of content, more than hbo, disney or prime, but more doesnt always equal to quality

Shrek 1 & 2, I love those movies. If they are on TV I leave them on for sure

kingpotato got a reaction from Heatman in Have you ever hid things in your cart based games?
Back in the days when the internet was still not as common as it is today, we used to sell and buy porn dvds at school hidden in ps1 or ps2 cases xD
But Ive never messed with an actual cartridge though, I never attempted opening one but I guess thats the reason why its a good place to hide things

Never actually had thay problem except with Skyrim when choosing a very bad race at the start of the game, sadly the only solution for that is to reset the game

what game? A tabletop game? 👀 sounds cool lol.
"The adventurer picks up the sock with the name on it and brings it to the dragon to patch it's wound. He notices that the dragon has lit a fire with its breath, so he sort of understands and adds twigs to the fire, it surges up brighter, lighting up the surroundings"
"The adventurer now takes a closer look at the dragon's wound, still feeling unsure of himself, but deciding that this tending takes priority, he decides that the sock is not enough for it, so he rips off his longshirt's sleeve to make a bandage for the wound."
"the dragon stays still enough for him to do so, and when he finishes he says..."
What does he say, and what does he do next... (comment the next scene)

kingpotato reacted to Empire Of Sight in Let's create a video game
Haha I'll get on with the topic but the way this is starting is similar the storyline for my game xDD except its a girl who wakes up in a dungeon not knowing where she is or who she is surrounded by purple eyed creatures xDD
"The adventurer approaches the dragon, questioning if its safe , as he reaches the dragon he notices a small wound under its right ear, the fear leaves him and feels sorrow for the beautiful but damaged creature. He searches around for something to patch the dragons wound , the dragon notices the adventurer searching the dimly lit clearing and breaths a small breath of fire to ignite a small pile of dry brittle kindling"

kingpotato reacted to Gonassis in Let's create a video game
The main character tries to remember where he is and what he is doing, he finds out he can't even recall his own name.
he spots a sock on the ground, it has a name embroidered on to it. It says "Ben", he still doesn't recall anything, except that spell he mumbled earlier that apparently summoned a dragon, which just now landed into the clearing a few meters off, scaring away all the yellow eyed creatures lurking in the shadows.
he starts walking toward the dragon a bit unsure of what to do next.
What do you do next ? (next comment has to reply with the action he takes)

kingpotato reacted to Reality vs Adventure in Let's create a video game
He checks his potions and weapon wheel only to find it empty so he conjures his old friend who owns the sky. While waiting, he notices the body has claw marks and a shriveled body. That points to none other than the marrow suckers. He notices big yellow eyes everywhere staring at him in the trees. Everything else is covered by leaves and branches. The whole forest has these creatures waiting in the trees. Off in the distance, that looks to be a dragon dashing through the clouds.

kingpotato reacted to Shagger in How to recover from a bad character build
To me, if it is even possible to level your character up in such a way that they feel weak, then it's a sigh that the game (or at least the levelling system) isn't very good. It should be possible to make it work with any kind of build within the boundaries of the game with, obviously, employing the correct play style and tactics. So in answer to the OP's question I suppose that's answer, adopt and experiment with other play styles and tactics, but if a game is more rewarding to one kind of build or play style over another, that's a sign of a problem.
The Elder Scrolls games are bad for this. I remember myself and @Crazycrab posting on what was one of your topics on Oblivion ages ago @StaceyPowers talking about how the levelling system in that game was so messed up it could weaken you compared to the enemies in the game if one got it wrong. I've linked the thread in question, so I won't go into such detail again, but I did mention Skyrim's system was much better. It's true, it is, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have it's own problems. Weapon skills, blacksmithing and enchanting, those are the key to being powerful in combat in Skyrim. Do it any other way, and you're doing it wrong. One can become so overpowered so easily. Forget about using magic in combat especially, you simply can't do even close to the same amount of damage. Ironically though, in the higher levellers, the mages you fight against in Skyrim are deadly, even when wearing armour with some serious magic defences enchanted in, the whole magic system in the game is horribly balanced.

kingpotato got a reaction from Heatman in Games you'd want to take with you to the grave
I dont see the point of taking a videogame to my grave. For obvious reasons you wont be able to play it and if they dug up your body years later the physical game will be unplayable

kingpotato reacted to Techno in GTA 6 has leaked
So GTA 6 just leaked. Over 90 videos can now be found on YouTube that shows off Vice City. I'm not showing anything here because Take Two is copyright striking everything.

I would recommend that in future when you post links to a news source to take the URL from the source website directly and not copy if from the google search page because google can alter, move or remove the link without notice.

kingpotato reacted to killamch89 in Star Wars Battlefront (Classic)
But I've said that many times over - Skyrim the base game is average at best. And so are most of Bethesda's games - it's the modding community that made them what they are.
I love the work that CDPR does with their games but Cyberpunk 2077 is a poor game - the concept was decent but the end product was disastrous so of course we can say that. It's just that gamers aren't holding studios accountable - I'm not a fanboy of any company. I could love all the work they've done in the past but a buggy game at $60 is a no go no matter who it is.
The old Battlefront games aren't just brilliant to me because of the lack of microtransactions. The storytelling plus the gameplay is what really made me love the old Battlefront games and still cherish them. Battlefront 2 is such a poor and lazy release for $60 compared to the original and that's why I have such a very negative outlook on it. It'd be the same with the GTA trilogy edition - I'm a huge GTA fan but when a company starts really dropping their standards, I'm not going to support them because I know what they are fully capable of producing if they really wanted to.

kingpotato got a reaction from melanie_marie27 in How much are you willing to spend on a smart phone ?
Nowadays smartphone prices are very high, with each Iphone release going near the 1000 dollars price and thats because there are people out there willing to pay for it.
I'm not really interested in high tech smartphones, It would be nice to have a high-end phone for gaming, but the prices are to much for me. My current smartphone is the most expensive one I had, Samsung galaxy I paid about 300 dollars for it brand new about two years ago, its not the best one out there but it gets the job done.
