I agree wholeheartedly - Freemium is absolute crap and has always been. That being said, I haven't spent any money on Fortnite and I used to grind in order to get enough to afford the passes. There's no way I'm wasting a penny on Fortnite.

This is a really tough one but my favorite is Rayquaza - in the movie, he was an absolute beast and the fight between him and Deoxys was incredible. I also liked how he stopped Groudon and Kyogre from fighting in the series.

Which is your favorite Pokemon? Mine is Deoxys, ever since the Deoxys movie came out when I was a kid I became obsessed with it.
(Also this is not a real form of his this is an ongoing centaur meme about the new game Pokemon Arceus) 😆

I couldn't care less if you like it or not. The concept of "freemium" is a free-to-play, but very insidious and predatorially monetised game. I call it "freemium crap" because "feemuim" is "crap". Hence, it's "freemium crap". Deal with it.

None of that changes the fact that people can and do pay money for an advantage in FUT over other players. Buy buying more packs than you can just naturally earn by playing the game, you increase your chances of getting higher value, rarer and more advantageous player cards to build you ultimate team with. That makes it pay-to-win. This is disgusting in a free-to-play game, but on a franchise that demands at least full AAA price year after year (and you have to buy the game year after year as your FUT progress is re-set each time the new game comes out, another bullshit move from EA), it is despicable. I'm glad you find it amusing, somebody should, but personally it makes me feel sick.

On one hand, if the developer doesn't care about updating the game after X many years to keep up with the new hardware that gets released, why should I care?
On the other hand, if it's an app that isn't supported for the new iOS releases, it just clogs up space of apps that do work.

Understood. Then again Resident Evil is one of those franchises that has a lot of entries outside of its numbered games, which are typically met with mixed/mildly positive reception, so I get their caution after being burnt a few times or not seeing the value in it. See how many remasters they've done in their past; it's been their modus operandi for at least a decade.
The well will dry up one day, and when it does they'll continue to make more games. I appreciate someone would prefer that to be sooner rather than later, though.

And I'm calling it now. After the disgusting shit they pulled with Diablo Immoral... I mean... Immortal... in fact I was right the first time, they will say "We listened to you" and not do all the same shit again with this game. They'll peg it back, but not remove it completely and expect to be praised for it, and there are idiots out there who lap it up. Well, not me. You can't see them announcing this game barely a week after Diablo Immoral launched and call it a coincidence, they want to distract people from the multitude of PR disasters they are going through. At least some of the horrid systems from Diablo Immoral will be in this game, I know it.

I have no faith in this version of Blizzard to deliver something for the fans, but that's not my main problem. I personally refuse to discuss Blizzard or thier games without bringing up the sexual misconduct and harassment the company has been guilty of. They don't deserve your support and you should consider what this trailer is not showing even more that what it is.

Most of you probably have checked out our post about MetaRace, the decentralized app (dapp) you can use to race NFT horses in the metaverse. As we mentioned in that post, one of the goals of the MetaRace community was to purchase a real, flesh-and-blood race horse.
Well, it happened! The MetaRace community now collectively own a two-year-old colt in the real world named MetaRace. This horse will be running at Windsor tomorrow, June 13th, 2022. This is a first not only for the MetaRace community, but for the horse as well, who has never started on a racetrack before. If you join MetaRace and meet certain requirements, you to can own a percentage stake in this horse. Good luck tomorrow, MetaRace!

killamch89 got a reaction from Withywarlock in Most underrated game?
This topic is kinda broad in the sense that almost everyone's idea of an underrated game varies so what criterias did the OP use when arriving to their conclusion as to what an underrated game is. That being said, my personal pick is Primal for the PS2. Great game with a compelling storyline, great abilities but was overlooked due to Devil May Cry launching in the same time period.

An underrated game to me is a game that was well received by "critics" at it's time of release but sold poorly and has gathered a cult following over the years. A perfect example of this would Beyond good and evil, a game that has received a cult status over the years.
I think It's too early to call a game that is barely over a year old an underrated game, but i'll agree with that it's quite likely a game like ghostrunner will gather a cult following in years to come. I've yet to buy it but i will pick up a copy as soon as i find a physical copy of it, you know i may just do that right now.
Also when I read @Withywarlock exellent criteria for an underrated game a more recent example would be mad max the videogame, it got mixed reviews but everybody who played the game doesen't have a bad word to say about the game. Which would be my top pick for underrated game of the eight generation of consoles.

My problem with the discussion of 'underrated' is that people can't agree on what it means. Take Ghostrunner for instance: Metacritic has collated reviews between 76% to 81% on four systems; Opencritic says 81% (76% for its DLC, Project_Hel); it has Very Positive reviews on Steam (its DLC has reviews as low as 'Positive'.) I don't see how this game begins to qualify to be underrated. It's not an unknown entity, it had an animated store advert on Steam's front page (what more could a PC release ask for?), and made headlines upon its reveal and release.
A game I'd nominate as being less-than-adequately rated is Warhammer: Mark of Chaos/Battle March, one of last pushes for console real-time strategy (RTS) games. Fantasy Warhammer with 2 or 3 armies depending on if you played MoC or BM, with great controls, tone, story, voice acting, script, and even some features that Total War could learn from (like embedding a leader into a unit). Given this was the precursor to Total War: Warhammer, I think it deserves a lot more credit retrospectively than it had at the time, but then we can only review games for what they are, not what they will be. I've measured the reviews of the game (55-65% on Metacritic) and find them wanting, as they have few specific complaints or ones that simply don't stand up to taking the time to learn (which the games give you plenty of.)

killamch89 reacted to Withywarlock in What race and class should I pick in ESO?
There's no right or wrong choices, races are mostly cosmetic and classes can be swapped out with different weapons and talent points. I seem to remember the Sorcerer was my favourite class (spellcasting summoner), but what joy I had of it was diminished by the game's netcode being really unresponsive. I've not played in a while so do forgive if things have changed a bit more considerably.

killamch89 reacted to Shagger in Movies or video games which one you love more?
It is one of the great contradictions in media. Video games and superheroes almost sound like they were created for each other, yet when they get in bed together it's less like a blissfully, happy couple and more like Tom and Gerry. It doesn't make sense, why is it that so many of these games fail? It can't be just greedy publishers, there has got to be more. Maybe it's because the concept makes too much sense, to the point that developers think it sells itself and underestimate the work and creativity it actually takes to get it right? I don't know, but it is fascinating.

killamch89 reacted to The Blackangel in Nintendo's consoles vs. Nintendo's handhelds.
The Wii flat out sucked, in my opinion. I don't have the interest of getting into a debate with anyone on it, regardless of their thoughts on the system.
That out of the way, the NES had 716 officially licensed cartridges released on it, that could legally bear the "Nintendo Seal Of Approval" logo on them. But you also have to take in the fact, that a large number of them were multi-game cartridges. That fact alone puts the number of games well over 1,000. There were also games that were released that, while Nintendo couldn't in good conscience put their stamp of approval on them, they had no problem with them being on their system. Like bible games for instance. Then you could also count ROM-hacks made by the fans. Hell, I found a copy of FF7 on an NES cartridge on eBay and snatched it up quick. As for the quality, the NES had the most original and unique games of any system. That is a point that will be argued by many people here, as well as anywhere in the gaming community, but it is something that can't be ignored. To some (like me for instance) it is bone hard fact. To others, it's merely an opinion. There are games on the NES in which the style, and in some cases, the subject matter hasn't been attempted since. Unless you can point me to a sequel to A Boy And His Blob.
With the DS, I'm not saying it was a bad console. But you have to consider how many iterations of it there were before you start counting the games. It is like the Game Boy in that regard. Many versions, many games. New versions mean more games. But you also have to consider the number of oversized franchises like Harry Potter and LOTR being brought to mainstream attention. Those games have been made, remade, made over, and made again. Star Wars falls into that trap too. If you ask me, there are too many of some of these games. So that skews the number widely. Granted the DS has several thousand games, which pretty much dwarfs any other system on the market. But the DS has grown and changed since its beginning. The amount of games initially released for the first version, was very low. But the design of the system in the way it worked, has only been rivaled by the Switch when it comes to handheld systems. From the numbers I've seen, 300 games on the DS is only about 10% of the number of games that have been released over the years, through all of its versions and iterations.
So while the DS may have the biggest library, it still isn't able to rival the impact the NES had when it launched and still has today. Many people shop for library size, some shop for preferred systems, some shop by genre, others shop by reviews, and others still just shop for quality regardless of age or system. If I only shopped by genre, I would never have played RDR2 a single time. Because up until that, it was all fantasy games for me. I had never been into western games. Custer's Revenge was the one that destroyed any interest for me.

I'm not trying to downplay anyone's opinion or preference. To each their own. I'm simply pointing out a few things that I feel should be acknowledged. Nothing more, nothing less.
