killamch89 reacted to NightmareFarm in What is your biggest gaming hot take?
I'll just copy paste an entire thread I wrote about a game a while back
Hot take: Ghostrunner is the greatest game of all time
    - Follows a traditional linear level based encounter to encounter format(like DMC for example) without frequent forced slow walking which is a rarity in modern games

    - Game systems are very straightforward. Combat mostly boils down to dodge, jump, slash, dash, air dash, use your power making it easy to get into whilst simultaneously having a VERY high skill ceiling. Customising your perks is pretty simple, you just place upgrade tetris blocks" into this box and the amount of upgrades you can have are limited by how much space is left to fit in new blocks.

    - No live service bullshit, the only DLC released is project HEL and a few skins for the sword but that's about it

    - Unique, satisfying combat which constantly keeps you on the edge of your seat like no other game. You die in one hit whilst having to dodge lasers and enemies everywhere in high speed action. Like DOOM eternal but you can't shoot(which makes it even more high risk and intense).

    - Varied and challenging enemy design

    - Level design is very engaging and stage gimmicks(like slow down or shuriken power ups) are implemented in fun ways which require precise timing and spice things up but aren't overdone to the point of exhaustion.

    - Movement is incredibly fun where you grapple, slide, wall run everywhere at high speeds.

    - Speaking of which, wall running exists and has no limitations. You can wall run on pretty much anything. In fact the game was BUILT around speedrunners doing crazy skips/sequence breaks with wall running.

    - You instantly respawn after death which keeps you constantly in the action

    - Killer synthwave soundtrack

    - Cool cyberpunk authoritarian dystopia aesthetic/setting

    - No cutscenes that break the flow of the game but instead exposition and dialogue happens as you explore through each level

    - Engaging storyline where you are thrown in the middle of a rebel coup as a cyborg who has just been woken up and gradually learn more and more about what's going on and how things became the way they are in the dystopia.

Welcome back mate - I'm in between Pokemon Sword, Metroid Prime Remake, Hogwarts Legacy (have cut back in the past week or so) and Dead Space Remake at the moment. There are some other games in between but everybody probably knows which games those are...

lol Ubisoft is on a roll over the past few years and not a good one either. From the data leaks to the failed NFT venture to seemingly shutting down game servers without any prior warning, Ubisoft is outdoing EA at this point.

That sounds a bit more terrifying - but what we haven't even questioned is how the Potato even became sentient and what's its reason for killing people? Was he in a Potato patch on the farm and his whole family got harvested and eaten?

This is something I have always had an issue with, not so much with single player games that are offline and you play on your own, if you want to cheat in a single player mode, go for it. It's not bothering me and will not affect others only you.
When it comes to online multiplayer and playing with others, that is where I draw the line to be honest. If you are cheating you are ruining the game for others who are playing as well and that makes it less enjoyable for others. I am glad to see that some game developers take this very seriously but I do feel more need to take it more seriously.

killamch89 reacted to Reality vs Adventure in What is your favorite lore?
I want explanations!!! Of why it is your favorite lore. Give us feelings!!! I want to eat your brain! Ok, how about that lore. I love zombie apocalypse or any apocalypse. But why? Because I love seeing human survival, companions you meet, start over, the awe. I also love fantasy games like the lore in Witcher 3. Subtle horror around every corner. The monsters were awesome and I love when monsters are given a personality.  Assassin’s Creed series mixing religion with GMO and AI, too complicated, which makes the lore so special. Valhalla has embraced a fantasy approach and I love it. And I have to mention the new ultimate lore for me today is Skyrim. Blood borne has excellent lore, but the game is too hard to enjoy.
What exactly is it I like out of these games? Give me fantasy. My harsh reality says fuck this world. Let’s game

The potato would only come out at night because it would sprout in the light! Would be quite ugly for a potato to have sprouts coming out everywhere. It could be the toxins from the sprouts turning the potato into a serial killer.

Not technically the last movie I watched, but I recently watched Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, and I really enjoyed it. It's a perfect example of a movie that is meant for kids, is still enjoyable for adults. The same can not be said for The Emoji Movie, which I also watched recently for some reason. That movie had exactly one funny joke (in my opinion), and it was in the first 5 minutes. Puss in Boots however was enjoyable all the way through, had some genuinely funny moments, and I really loved the animation style. Reminded me a lot of Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse

killamch89 reacted to Ravenfreak in Nintendo games have become too easy according to Nintendo Enthusiast
Pokemon games have definitely become much easier these past two generations. I'm not just saying that because I've been playing since I was a kid and know the type matchups by heart, the last two generations automatically gave the player experience share and you can't even turn that feature off. In the older games, you'd have to train every single Pokemon in your party by switching them out until you obtained the experience share item. (Or experience all in the first generation games.) Not only that, but the old version of the experience share was a held item, meaning only one Pokemon could get extra experience and not you're entire party like in newer games. I get that I'm not the targeted audience of the games, they've always been targeted towards children but I remember struggling with the Gen 1, 2 and 3 games as a child. (I was 19 when I first played Gen 4 and I turned 20 the year Gen 5 came out so I was already a young adult during these generation releases...) Cynthia is a pain in the rear to beat, she's literally the only trainer I've struggled with recently while playing the Gen 4 remakes. I haven't played really much of the other Nintendo franchises, so I don't have much to say about them...

killamch89 reacted to Anders in Is RGB important?
I certainly used to think so. I had an RGB strip inside my PC case, one on the back of my desk, as well as a full RGB keyboard and mouse. I'm now pretty much officially past that phase. My mouse has no lights, my keyboard just has a white backlight, I just have a normal desk lamp, and the stip inside my case has been disconnected.
I still think RGB can look pretty sick in certain setups, but I personally prefer a more clean look nowadays.

Growing up with music, it was always something I had going on in my life right from being a kid. With my auntie being a music teacher and also playing the piano and the violin, I grew up to have quite the love for music and would definitely say that I am musically gifted.
I have always been a firm believer that bringing someone up around music can help them greatly as they get older.

I know what it sounds like, but it's not a porn site. It's a comedy site with tons of interactive stuff that are absolutely hilarious. You should definitely check out the Jeb games. There's Bird Calling, Bats and Balls, Alcohol & Ammo, and Book of Spells. There's others that are favorites of mins such as Knotty Kitty, and Crash Test Dumbass Overkill. CTDO is my absolute favorite game on the whole site. There's also the court of Judge Hellfire that is funny as hell to watch.

I always remember as a kid, the Bond movies would air quite often on the TV. It would usually be a Sunday afternoon and there would always be a Bond movie on the TV during the afternoon and I would watch it because my dad was watching it.

I could just imagine a potato slowly creeping up on someone with a knife and the JAWS music casually playing right before the kill. I any normal movie you would not find that funny but because it is a potato, it's quite hilarious LOL
