Crazycrab reacted to StaceyPowers in Clunkiest sex scenes in video games?
I actually heaved a breath of relief when I was not forced to endure a sex scene in Dragon Age: Inquisition.
Oh, on this note, arguably the funniest clunky sex scene I’ve seen is in Origins when Morrigan gets it on with either the player or Loghain late in the game, and suddenly, out of nowhere, she is wearing a bra which she most definitely has not been wearing for the rest of the game. Like, what’d she do, walk up to Leliana and be like, “Need to borrow your bra? To be having sex, one Must be wearing a bra?”

I think discord in fact is more better for sharing content, audio, video too. I mean they have solution for every IRC problem out there. I know for sure there are many people who may still stuck with the IRC and for the right reasons. But discord is pretty much good enough.

I think a vertical tower might not be very practical for some Television cabinets. With Smart TVs getting bigger not everyone got space at the top. Hopefilly alternative positions can be used, like happened with other past consoles that could be used horizontal or vertical.

That said, I am here for the games, so I don't really care that much if the shape is too appealing or not, so long it works well and the ports make sense and won't cause problems for the console or ourselves, I am happy. I just don't want it to be difficult to connect stuff and that it runs smoothly.

I think that having a bigger console in exchange of proper back compatibility is more than fine if it means that will work without shortening the life of the console unnecessarily. It'll help clear space and give use to the games I got and might want to get from past consoles.

I dont care much for the shape of the console, on the other hand the shape of the Xbox X series opens the door for a very cool special edition

I find playing FPS's a little difficult... for obvious reasons.  I don't really play much online either.

But still, best... it's a close call between Perfect Dark on N64 and DOOM 2016.

The worst FPS and by extension the worst game I have ever played was Resident Evil Survivor: Code Veronica on the PS2.

Thats a good point, still I cant help to think that one is responsible for their actions, I personally dont think I have an addiction, but if I do and I will be responsible for my actions and ultimate my fault for feeding the addiction. But you are correct as you mentioned the targeted market, its people who have addiction to this kind of stuff , people who have the money to spare or kids who dont know any better. Which reminds me not to long ago my little brother in law (11-12 years old respectively) where asking me how to buy the currency for games like Free fire or Minecraft , they had some money to spare and they where very insisting about it, at the end of the day I convinced them to get some waterguns instead, but it was clear that if they had the chance they would spend the money on microtransactions for the games simply because they could.

It's not quite as black and white as saying "It's the customer's fault for buying them".  They are designed intentionally to be manipulative and use the same psychological techniques that Casino's, slot machines and even shady business schemes like pyramids.

You don't have an issue with spending money on these things and actually, neither do I and thats great...  for us, but we are NOT the people that they are after.  Its children, people with gambling problems, compulsive spending habbits, troubles with addiction or otherwise don't know any better and/or can't help themselves.

It could never have the same impact as a movie as it did in the game.  So much of what made The Last of Us so engrossing was the interactive nature of the storytelling.  I'm not saying it cant be made into a good movie but it wouldn't be the same.

Disagree, it made a great game but would have been a generic movie which would have been lumped in with all other zombie like movies.

Crazycrab reacted to Dead2009 in Silent Hill Series Getting 'Soft Reboot' With Two New Games, Report Says
    https://www.ign.com/articles/silent-hill-games-sequels-konami-pt-kojima-2020-leak
Two new Silent Hill games are in the works, according to a new report from a reliable leaker, via Eurogamer.
Twitter user Aesthetic Gamer was the first to drop the new report. Aesthetic Gamer is known for reliably leaking previous Capcom titles (although Silent Hill is developed and published by Konami), and divulged some details about the supposed two new Silent Hill games. According to Aesthetic Gamer, one game will be a “soft” reboot of the franchise while the other will be an episodic experience similar to Telltale games or Until Dawn.
“In other news while I'm dropping this stuff, and I think I can talk about this, I'll mention there is a couple new Silent Hill games in the works,” Aesthetic Gamer said. “Konami about two years ago reached out to various developers to pitch ideas for two Silent Hill games, one a soft-reboot of the franchise, the other an episodic TellTale/Until Dawn-style game to go alongside the reboot. I don't know anything more than that though, but I sure do hope Konami's given it the appropriate budget and found the right developer to make those games succeed.”
Aesthetic Gamer closed out their comments by saying that they don’t know anything more about the alleged Silent Hill games, just that they exist. They also said that they guess one or more of the games may be revealed this year.
One leaker’s information wouldn’t be that much to go on, but other signs do point to developments that bolster the case for a new Silent Hill game or two existing. Silent Hill 2 art director Masahiro Ito said that he was working on “a title as a core member. I hope the title won’t be canceled.”
Though Ito never confirmed as much, fans speculated that Ito’s “I hope the title won’t be canceled” comment could be a reference to Hideo Kojima’s infamously canceled Silent Hills game, which was preceded by the even more infamous P.T. (“Playable Teaser”) demo that spooked horror game fans back in 2014. For what it’s worth, Konami has also been spotted refiling Silent Hill trademarks that were about to lapse. Horror media site Rely on Horror also said that its own independent source also said a new Silent Hill game was in development.
And speaking of Kojima, the developer has seemingly waffled back and forth on whether or not he’d pursue a horror game after the cancelation of Silent Hills. Kojima posted a picture of his workspace, saying he was working on the concept for his next game. That said, don’t count on Kojima to work with Konami after their very public breakup following the release of Metal Gear Solid 5. He also seems to have his hands full with plans to develop smaller games, manga, and anime.
Konami told PCGamesN that the company is "considering ways to provide the next title," and IGN has confirmed with a Konami spokesperson further clarifying that "Konami is continually evaluating our entire IP portfolio for future development consideration."

Aye, I was gonna chime in to say this. I remember seeing them eating bodies of people in the game. Also, they really like eating people who are alive, too. Pretty sure that’s how they get their sustenance. I’m guessing the cordyceps infection also gives them a prolonged lifespan, giving them living properties more in-line with a fungas. Creepy, right?

The more corporate gaming becomes, the more statistics driven its design is, the more it stops surprising you.
So breakthrough classics tend to surprise the hell out of you, and have a lot to prove. Once proven, they are now an investment opportunity.
I would say though.... some first party games particularly for Sony and Nintendo, have been more interested in pushing a series forward to captivate fans and sell hardware.
I tend to prefer those kinds of sequels. Some games that may not be necessarily first party, are often still get their creativity backed by a hardware manufacturer to show off their product. Those can have interesting results too.

My difficulty with COD by name, is it is now just a formula. AC, is also just a formula. They have basically abandoned its whole meta-story now.
I would argue these are impressively good formulas, but most original fans stopped caring awhile ago because of increasing redundancy.

God of war for PS4 was a good example of a series surprising its audience and being a good showpiece. Would love to see more series try things like this.

Kratos or Cratos is the divine personification of strength in Greek mythology. He is the son of Pallas and Styx; he and his siblings Nike ("Victory"), Bia ("Force"), and Zelus ("Zeal") are all essentially personifications. Kratos is first mentioned alongside his siblings in Hesiod's Theogony.

Can you explain that?  To the best of my knowledge Kratos wasn't a real man, or even a part of ancient Greek mythology for that matter.

I'm with you there.  Coming of a back of console genrastion that mostly produced side scrollers and overheard RPGs and the only 3D titles were moslty FPS's and a handful of flying games, Zelda OoT was a giant leap forward.

Remember I'm a classic gamer here people.
I would say the biggest advance would be Zelda OoT after Link To The Past. Link To The Past was so small and confined. Then OoT comes out, and it's enormous. Especially the dungeons. And there are so many tricks and hidden treats you can find through out the game. It was the first one with a horse you can ride, it introduced gold skulltulas, gorons, gerudos, friendly zoras, and a whole cast of new items. And above all else it introduced THAT MOTHERFUCKING OWL. Damn you Shigeru Miyamoto!

If it's leveled quests (Horizon Zero Dawn, Witcher 3) I tend to start with the lowest leveled quests and work my way up.  If there is multiple questlines with different factions (Skyrim, Oblivion) I will focus on one faction at a time breaking into the main quest every once in a while.

Crazycrab got a reaction from Shagger in Console vs PC: which do you usually prefer?
Yes, there a plenty of reasons.  Custom overlays on Twitch, access to better audio and visual equipment, customisable software, better facilities for monitoring chat, (like multi-screen setups) and capture cards for streaming Console content but none of this cheaper!  Like I was saying before I would expect some who streams professionally to have this kind of equipment because it's the "tools of the trade". It's about producing the best quality content for their Twitch and/or YouTube channels, their not saving money!

Once again this is not the case.  We have already established an appropriate PC setup for a streamer is more expensive to buy but it's also more expensive to maintain and upgrade.  Putting the possibility of stuff breaking down aside (which is possible either way) Let do some add ups for 2 scenarios in this generation. One with a PC and the other with PlayStation Consoles and I'm going to make it a little more detailed this time so I can hopefully get through to you.

    PC:
Let's start again with our initial upfront budget of around $1000, at the time of the PS4 release in November 2013 on that budget you'd have been able to rock a Haswell Quad Core i5 and a GTX 760, maybe GTX 770.  Would this still be enough horsepower for a streamer today? Absolutely not, they would have to upgrade at least once. Not only would the 700 series cards be struggling with games after 4 or 5 years, but the non-hyperthreaded Core i5 would be an especially big headache for a streamer because over the last several years games which use 4 threads have become commonplace.  That means the streaming software would have no threads of it's own to do it's work, I know of this issue because I remember Jim Sterling attempting to stream a few years ago (I think it was Black Ops 4) but couldn't because the game was hogging all 4 cores of his i5.

So lets say this streamer decides to upgrade for the same budget of $1000 in the summer of 2017 (half way through this gen), this time we need to make sure to have more than 4 CPU threads available.  So this time assuming that they re-used some parts from their old system to save some money they could maybe stretch to a GTX 1070 and a Kaby Lake i7.  So over the course of the latest console generation this has in PC hardware alone cost $2000.  Don't forget that's not even considering the cost of monitor(s), desk, chair, streaming/editing software, headset, microphones and a bunch of other things.

    PS4:
We start with the initial cost of $400 for the console, $250 for the laptop and $200 for the additional equipment like a capture device, camera, microphone and so on.  That comes to $850 that's all you'd ever really need aside from a TV. let's assume, however they do a mid gen refresh when the PS4 Pro comes out. That's another $400 for the console, another $150 for a 4K compatible capture device, so $550.  That comes to a total of $1400, even if we put on the cost of another new laptop which be optional at this stage it's STILL significantly less.

I don't know where this delusion that PC gaming is cheaper comes from, whether is confirmation bias causing you be selective in your use of the facts, they feel the need to downplay consoles to makes them feel better about their own PC builds or they don't know any better.  I've been on other threads where PC fanboys have tried to convince people that PC's save money and it drives me nuts because a gamer on both PC and Console and tech fan I know it's an outright lie! One guy on this forum even posted that a $500 novatech PC that had no dedicated GPU in it claiming it could do 4K at 120fps... yeah, maybe on Microsoft Paint!  I'm sorry to go on a tangent but I'm so sick of these damn lies, especially now that I know it's about to get even worse when assholes start posting all over that place that you could build a "PS5" equivalent PC for $400 or whatever and some people will actually believe it and waste their money on crap build.

Let's do a rough add up:

A Gaming PC for gaming and work with all the hardware and software necessary for a streaming set up, about $1000 minimum.

A Console and a reasonable (but not gaming) laptop, $350 + $250 = $600.  If you want to stream using the desktop app or web browser istead of the console app you'll need a capture device, $600 + $100 = $700.

Your still MILES away from the truth.

None of that is really relevant anyway, your talking about someone who games professionally as a full time job.  Whether it be a Twitch Streamer, YouTuber, Reviewer, Journalist or whatever. I would expect someone in the position to by default to have a decent PC and most if not all the consoles to maximise the range of their content and support their income.  The rest of us are talking about the other 99% percent of the world that game and maybe stream a little as a hobby. Most people who's job doesn't directy involve gaming don't need a PC for browsing the web, checking their email of producing documents. A reasonably priced laptop or tablet and a smartphone are more than sufficient.

Gaming on a PC is more expensive than a console and I don't even mean that in a derogatory way.  There are advantages to a PC, I'm simply stating that cost is not one of them.
