Let's talk about mental health in USA

Recommended Posts

These videos pretty much says it all. If you watch the whole thing and break it down, you can really see exactly what is wrong with America. I do believe we have a serious mental health epidemic in this country. Why could be some reasonings behind it? What can we do about it? Any real solutions? The reason this video sparked me to post this as a debate is not because she is another Karen, but because of how everyone reacted, as if it was a normal day.

I think that the continued recording of the woman really pushed her further over the edge. Have pity on people like that who can't hold it together but try to live a normal life. I know some people who work up the courage to go out in public because they need to get things done and could be just like the lady in the videos. It's sad really.

Yes, we have a lot of crazy people. Some people can't afford to remain medicated and others don't like the zombie feeling the meds leave them on.

Did you watch both videos? I'm not gonna have pity on her when in the second video she started lying and called the cops saying the other lady is threatening her when in fact she rushed the lady recording her twice. And everyone else just stood around and she just laid on the ground. Later on in the police report, the Karen stated that she was wrong and didn't want the video to cause her to lose her job and apartment as the reason why she broke down.

Well, she's not right in the head so of course she's going to do things we don't agree with. I think that the whole incident made other people uncomfortable and they didn't want to get near the lady having the break down because she was semi violent. The one recording sounded like maybe she was black so they couldn't ask her to stop or they'd be accused of being racist. Too many people accusing people of things in this day and age. 20 years ago the lady would have been briskly escorted out of the place and demanded she never returned.

The one recording, they actually did ask her to leave. This whole scenario smells of racism, but it goes deeper than that. We have lost sense of right and wrong, childish adults not getting punished, privilege, acceptance, normalization, too much tolerance, not enough tolerance, you name it.

Honestly, I do just see this woman as another entitled "Karen". She broke down because she realised that in that moment the world around her didn't exist to serve her. Oh, poor you. That fact that people didn't want to get involved, but more importantly, not get involved on her behalf only irked her more. That's why she tearfully pleaded "don't report me" because she knew she was in the wrong and her delusion of privilege wasn't offering he any comfort.

It's also a fair assumption given the words spoken and the tone of the voice of the woman holding the camera phone that she is most likely black, so a further entitlement of "white privilege" is also playing at least a part here.

When that didn't work, it's time for the next step in the Karen notebook, play the victim. This obviously was not the case and she knew the evidence said otherwise because she was being filmed.

The next part is my favourite. She was literally charging at the woman holding the camera phone demanding she "get away from her" whilst there was a good 20ft, shopping counters and clothes racks separation them. To maintain a distance, all she had was stay fucking still. What was really happening was she putting out that message of "get her away from me" for benefit of everyone watching this unfold to try and solidify the false narrative or her being the victim. I also believe was combined with an effort to take the phone from the victim. Then there's the ultimate "Karen" play, call the police and lie your ass off. People who are genuinely threatened do not behave that way.

Nor do people who genuinely mentally ill. This just another entitled, stubborn, bratty and most likely bigoted woman who lost her temper. People who are mentally ill are introverted and vulnerable and are more likely to desperately try to escape these these situations rather than aggravate them. People who are criminally insane are a different matter, that's a very different kind of mentally ill, and this woman is not that either. She was in full control of her actions and knew why she was doing them. I'm not a phycologist so don't take my opinion as fact, but I don't believe for one second that woman was mentally ill and she deserves no sympathy.

Clearly put and I agree with you. Just watching the normalization of it unfold leaves me shocked. Many things at play here and everything should be a case study in the psychological field. Those things at play from the one recording, to the Karen, to bystanders, security, police, police report (in another video part 5 I think). I think what the mental health problem is, it's the normalization/entitlement/victimization/racism all at play.

The white woman was psychotic, end of story. At 1:25 in the second video the woman recording said "Who are they gonna believe, her white ass or my black ass?" so that should end the question of her race right there.

As for the white woman, she literally needs to be institutionalized for the rest of her life. I'm talking strait jacket, rubber room. Throw her in there, feed her broth, and leave her alone. Have a camera in the corner. Doesn't matter if it work or not, put it there. When she learns to quit bitching about cameras, add another one. Let her see out a window for 30 minutes once a year, then throw her ass back in the rubber room.

Aside from that 30 minutes at the window, she will never leave the room again and will die in there. One less psychopath.

If you don't think she is a psychopath, just ask. I'm a clinically diagnosed sociapath, and I can tell when someone is on the spectrum.
