Have you ever hid things in your cart based games?

Recommended Posts

Back in the day I knew a kid who would hide money in his video game carts. He had a torx screwdriver or whatever was needed to open up NES, SNES, N64 carts, and I guess what he'd do, is when he got some birthday money or anything else, he'd put it inside the games. I guess his brothers often stole from him, and even though they'd play his games, they never stole them. So he was always assured it'd be a safe option. I never did that, but I did once hide a note I got from a girl in the back of my PS2 expansion slot (for internet, or a HDD). I wasn't using the console then, but I put that note there to hide it. Honestly it's not a bad hiding spot for other things too. 😄

Are you kidding me 😂? That's a lot of work just to hide his money. Why not give it to his parents to keep the money for him? Although, some parents won't give you the money back when you ask for it 😂. My mother did that to me at one time. She told me that I would have to pay for all her food I was eating if I want my money back 😂

He wasn't good at protecting his money, as he would often leave it sitting around his room. His sisters knowing this, often stole a few bucks here and there, so he came up with the idea to hide the money in his games, as his sisters hated video games anyway. I mean, he could have simply hid the money somewhere else, or idk put it in a wallet and hid that, but he liked the idea of hiding money in there, as they never would have guessed anyway.

I actually hid a letter I got from a girl I had a crush on, by hiding it in my PS2 expansion slot. I also hid it in a NES console, to which my brother found and made fun of me lol. Good times.

My sisters still search through my pockets till today 😂. Any money that's not inside my wallet, they consider it money that I'm not interested in keeping, so they always take it 😂. The guy really went through a great deal just to hide his dear money. They must have trying to kill him by taking all his money 😂. I don't even want to remember what my mother did to me when she found a love letter I wrote to my girlfriend which I kept in one of my books 😂

Nope, I never did that. I might have a inside little box that my case offed, I had a cooler-master-strom-trooper with a slid in and out box that allows me to put stuff into it 🙂 I left it with nothing inside for years 😛 I thought it was heavy enough to put things in 🙂

I always keep external hard drives inside my game cart during my early gaming time, so.my friends wouldn't steal such from me. But since I stay alone, their is no need hiding my hard drive inside my game cart trying to safeguard away from friends.

I do recall hiding money or something like that in one of those little slots underneath the Gamecube if I remember correctly. And I've also heard stories of people using the LAN/addon-compartment on the back of the PS2 as their weed stash, and no one ever who actually used it for what it was supposed to do.

Back in the days when the internet was still not as common as it is today, we used to sell and buy porn dvds at school hidden in ps1 or ps2 cases xD

But Ive never messed with an actual cartridge though, I never attempted opening one but I guess thats the reason why its a good place to hide things

My little brother is quite mischievous, there's no way he wouldn't find that and talk about it 😂. It's why whenever I got them back in the days, once I'm done watching, I'm breaking the DVD disc and discard them 😂. I have hidden my money in one of my shoe's back then and my brother wore the particular shoe and took it 😂

You could hide small things in a cart fairly easily. The issue was finding a torx screwdriver and opening them up. Thankfully there's no issue when opening one up, as there's nothing really holding them together aside from the screw/screws.

Otherwise, there's a decent amount of space to store small amount of cash, a note or two etc.

Don't hide anything too expensive though, would hate to end up losing the cart and whatever you stored in it.

A friend of mine who used to be drug addict used to hide some of his drugs like that. It went on for a very long time before his parents found out that he was into drugs. He later got help and I'm glad that he's been clean for years now.

I never thought about hiding anything inside my gaming devices while growing up. I guess it was because my parents allowed me to live as I wished since they believed that a kid needs a bit of freedom to develop better.

Outside of hiding my money under my mattress, having it in a piggy bank or hiding it in a magazine, I'd never thought to hide it among my gaming stuff because sometimes friends may borrow a controller or something.

I am not even good at hiding things and would never had considered hiding valuables in my game cart asides from obviously using to keep my video games.
