Free PlayStation Plus September 2018: Our Predictions

Taking a break from Mafia III or Dead By Daylight to find out what games we’ll be able to play for free during September on PlayStation Plus? Here are our predictions for free Playstation Plus Setpember 2018 titles.

1. Red Dead Redemption

The most highly anticipated game of October is hard to call, but by a narrow margin we can probably go with Red Dead Redemption 2. With the sequel to Rockstar Games’ hugely popular open world Western coming out in October, there would be no better time to feature Red Dead Redemption in the free games list for PS Plus. It’s been done before, but that was clear back in 2012, so the time is ripe to do it again.

2. Battlefield 4

Another hot upcoming release for October is of course the FPS game Battlefield V from EA DICE. Since Sony gave us Battlefield 3 for free back in 2013, maybe they will let us play Battlefield 4 for free next month as a lead-in to Battlefield V. Battlefield V will bring us the first-ever battle royale mode in the franchise. With anticipation already soaring, this would be a chance to build it even higher.

3. Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes

With Lego DC Super-Villains on the way, this is a great time for Sony to feature a free Lego game. The most obvious pick would be Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes. It’s been featured for free for Vita before in 2014, so maybe this time around we’ll see it for PS3 (or maybe Vita again).

4. Just Dance 2018

It would be new for a Just Dance title to show up in the free games list for PS Plus, but it would be a way to build interest for Just Dance 2019. We do sometime see party games featured in the list, so maybe this would be a fun, unpredictable title to break the mold a bit.

5. Fe

Our guess for an indie game to be featured next month is Fe. This Zoink title published by EA features beautiful, stylized graphics, drawing you into a mysterious forest land. It is just one of a number of 2018 indie games which deserve to have some time in the spotlight.

September’s free PS Plus games to play will be announced on the last Wednesday of the month, which is August 29th. You’ll be able to find the official list then on the PlayStation blog. Based on past updates, we would expect it to be posted by around 4.30pm BST. If you prefer, you can just check back with us—we’ll be posting the list here as well!
