Free PS4 Games for August 2018 Revealed

Another month, another round of free games for the PS4, PS3, and PS Vita. Between August 7 and September 4, PlayStation Plus subscribers will have the chance to download two free games per platform. And don’t forget, there’s still time to download July’s free games, which are Absolver and Heavy Rain for PS4, Deception IV: The Nightmare Princess and Rayman 3 HD for PS3, and Space Overlords and Zero Escape: Zero Time Dilemma for Vita.

Without further ado, here’s a breakdown of what’s free for PlayStation Plus subscribers in August.

PS4

Mafia III
Dead by Daylight

PS3

Bound by Flame
Serious Sam 3 BFE

PS VITA

Draw Slasher
Space Hulk

For PS4 players, August is bringing the goods with two fairly well-received, albeit very different, titles. Mafia III is a single-player, open-world romp in which players take control of a Vietnam vet seeking vengeance for the death of his adopted family. Dead by Daylight, on the other hand, is a strictly multiplayer experience where four players struggle to escape the fifth player by repairing generators that open a gate. A fifth player controls one of the game’s several killers, which include Freddy Krueger and Michael Myers, whose job it is to keep the other players from escaping.

On the PS3 side, August’s freebies are 2014’s Bound By Flame, which seems like a farily standard, yet charming, fantasy RPG. and Serious Sam 3: BFE, the sixth main entry in the Serious Sam series of old school first-person shooters.

For gamers on the go, the PS Vita is getting its own two free games in August. Draw Slasher sees players run and use the Vita’s touchscreen to draw lines that slash through foes, assuming the role of a pirate in search of his abducted family. Space Hulk is a turn-based strategy game based in the world of Warhammer 40,000.
