Gamer Beats Fallout: New Vegas On Hardest Possible Settings Without Killing
Gamers of all sorts often challenge themselves by beating games on the hardest possible difficulty; especially if added modifiers are involved. Beating the game without dying, beating the game without using a weapon, and so on. Now, one determined gamer has managed to complete Fallout New Vegas without dying. Moreover, they did so without killing a single enemy, and with mods enabled to implement extreme survival conditions.
The Insane Nineteen-Hour Run
YouTuber Rheteam began this run in March, and to complete Fallout New Vegas took them 19 hour-long episodes. Not only did Rheteam play on the highest difficulty, but without dying or killing, and with hardcore survival conditions enabled via mods. They didn’t use companions, and never fired a gun; they just used a pair of boxing gloves.
The reason for using boxing gloves was that they can’t kill enemies. The close combat weapon results in knocking out enemies instead. By putting 10 in Strength, Intelligence and Endurance at the start of the game, Rheteam set up a build to maximize what he would need for the run. Although he never killed anyone himself, or with a companion, he did often arrange for people to die. He was able to complete the game’s main story with the New California Republic, and also completed all side-quests. He did not complete one tutorial mission, but he showed it in a separate video.
Some of the hardest missions in the run required Rheteam to kill other NPCs in areas where he couldn’t lure them into range of friendly NPCs. In these cases, he was able to maneuver so that enemies would shoot one another, resulting in friendly fire. Those enemies would then turn on one another, completing the objective for him. While many gamers have tried different ways to complete games like New Vegas in the hardest possible way; there can’t be many ways harder than this to do it.
