Continuing their promotional campaign for Borderlands 3 post-Gamescom, Gearbox has released a major new trailer for the game entitled; “The Official Guide to Borderlands 3”. This six-and-a-half-minute video skims over the game’s premise, settings, Vault Hunters, and enemies, among other things; giving players an overview of what to expect in the pseudo- Borderlands 3 Guide.
The New Borderlands 3 Guide Trailer
Jumping from topic to topic, the Borderlands 3 guide trailer provides players with a relatively concrete catch-up of what Gearbox has been revealing in trailers up to now. Certainly, this seems to be the primary trailer for Borderlands 3 for the time being. (Perhaps until the release of a launch trailer in mid-September.) With the game recently voted ‘Most Wanted Game‘ at Gamescom, it makes sense to take advantage of current hype to further market the game.
Indeed, Gearbox recently partnered with Epic Games to launch FortniteXMayhem, a Fortnite – Borderlands 3 crossover event. Clearly aiming to market the upcoming game to Fortnite players, the event seems to have had a positive reception from the Fortnite fanbase. There are now less than three weeks remaining before the release of Borderlands 3. As such, Gearbox now has a very limited time to keep promoting the launch. All of this appears to be the start of that final push.
Despite the plethora of trailers released so far by Gearbox, including the new Borderlands 3 guide trailer, story details are still very sparse. Indeed, Gearbox has shown almost nothing of the game’s story and dialogue. While details have been teased for each of the four Vault Hunters, fans have only gotten to see their backstories. As a result, there is likely a lot of the game which hasn’t even come close to being shown yet. Although the game’s writing may not be as irreverent as it has been in the past, it sounds as though the game will still be reminiscent of its predecessors.
