Gears 5 will definitely bring plenty of new content to the Gears of War franchise. After the reveal of The Warden, one of the new enemies coming with the fifth Gears of War title, we were introduced to another new enemy. The Swarm Leeches will be your worst nightmare according to the official Gears of War Twitter account.
The Swarm Leeches are a type of Swarm creature. They fly, and they hunt in packs. Just like the DeeBees, they also have the ability to possess COG technology. Furthermore, their way of attacking humans is also unique. They will burrow into your chest and expel right back out. Yes, that is enough to kill you. However, when they are part of a pack, their name is the Swarm Flock.
That new exciting enemy was introduced to the fans through a tweet posted by the official Twitter account of the Gears of War franchise. However, apart from the above information, we do not have any more knowledge when it comes to these creatures. The Gears of War official Twitter account gave no more details about The Swarm Flock in their tweet description either. However, they do not seem like a boss or the main boss, but rather a medium enemy you will stumble on while playing.

Gears 5 is planned to be released sometime in 2019 along with another two additional Gears titles, Gears Pop, and Gears Tactics. Since Kait is now the main protagonist of the franchise, we assume that she will be the one who has to take down these creatures. Gears 5 will be focused on her backstory. Therefore it will probably be at some point during her journey that The Swarm Flock will appear.
That new enemy already seems deadly enough to challenge you during your journey in the game. The Warden is another enemy that also looks pretty powerful. Let’s hope for more exciting and deadly enemies like these for the next Gears of War title.
