Gears 5 Story: Going Deep Into Trailers’ Details And What We Might See
Gears 5 was announced during E3 2018 and we got kind of an idea for the possible continuance of the Gears of War franchise storyline from its trailer. Knowing the story up until Gears of War 4 and after watching the main character switch to Kait, we can have a small picture of the possible development of Gears 5 storyline.
Gears of War 4 maintained the Gears soul while adding some new characters to the Gears of War story and bringing back some old ones. Gears 5 seems to be taking place many years after Gears of War 4 considering that various characters who were young in the fourth installment look older now. Knowing Kait will be the lead character in Gears 5 shows us that we will be focusing on her story, which will probably have to do with her connection to the Locust.
Additionally, judging from the trailer, Kait seems to have some strange visions which make her frustrated, and it seems like something is very wrong with her. This can only make us think of one thing: she is starting to come closer to her past connection with the Locust in a way that affects her negatively and maybe brings her closer to some dark side hidden inside of her.
However, the only possible theory we can think of about Kait’s fate is for her to be the next Locust Queen, the chosen one. This leads us to our next assumption, which is the Locust’s knowledge of Kait’s full power, capabilities and strength. Being aware of the fact that the previous Locust Queen was the reason the planet experienced destruction, we can assume that Kait’s fate might be something along these lines.
Switching the main character might be hinting at a huge turn of events in the Gears of War storyline. Because of that, all we can think is that something bad is going to happen. Therefore, this might be the last time we will get to see the old Kait we know.
Nevertheless, from a first look, Gears 5 seems to be leading the Gears of War storyline in a new and interesting direction. We are expecting Gears 5 release in 2019, but its exact release date is currently unknown.
