Ghostwire: Tokyo PS5 Gameplay Reveal Trailer Released

At long last, since the game’s announcement during E3 2019, gamers have gotten to see more of Ghostwire: Tokyo, the upcoming paranormal title from Tango Gameworks. The game attracted considerable attention at E3 for its evocative, supernatural trailer, and now, fans get to take a look at gameplay. Moreover, the trailer features gameplay from the upcoming PS5.

The New Ghostwire: Tokyo Gameplay Trailer

The new Ghostwire: Tokyo PS5 gameplay trailer went public earlier this evening during Sony’s PS5 game reveal event, alongside numerous other trailers and reveals. While the game’s first trailer was purely cinematic, this new trailer focuses heavily on gameplay footage. It reveals, for example, that the game will feature a first-person perspective. Moreover, gamers get to see plenty of the spectral strikes and abilities which the player character will use to combat the game’s paranormal enemies. Certainly, the ‘action-adventure’ aspect of the game was more apparent here than in the original trailer. That trailer focused more heavily on the horror part of the game’s aesthetic.

Tango Gameworks is a relatively new development studio in Tokyo. Their previous games are 2014’s The Evil Within and its subsequent sequel in 2017. (Ghostwire: Tokyo will be the studio’s third game.) Tango is also one of several studios, including Arkane and id Software, which are owned by ZeniMax Media. As such, the game’s publisher will be Bethesda Softworks when it does eventually launch.

Ghostwire Tokyo PS5 Gameplay Trailer Released 2

Of course, the new trailer doesn’t go into detail about Ghostwire: Tokyo’s release date. Rather, it merely states that the game will be arriving sometime in 2021. This was a common theme throughout the PS5 game reveal event. As Sony has yet to announce a formal release date for the PS5, all of the games which featured in the event omitted release dates. Only a handful included so much as a vague release window. Fans will have to wait until next year to get more details about Ghostwire: Tokyo, in all likelihood.
