The God of War developer Sony Santa Monica Studio has officially confirmed the discovery of the final Easter egg in the game. For better or for worse, it now seems that all secrets and hidden Easter eggs have been uncovered by fans of the hit game. This may come as a disappointment for players who refused to believe that the final secret had already been discovered.
Sony Santa Monica took to Twitter today to confirm that the final Easter egg had been discovered in God of War by fans. Believe it or not, the recently found secret that fans had uncovered is actually indeed the last secret that was hidden in the game. From here on, we are going to dive deep into what the secret is so turn away now if you are reading this for some reason and have yet to complete the game entirely.
Still here? Cool. So, yes, the final secret in God of War is related to the runes in Kratos’ house from the start of the game. Players can return to the home of Kratos and Atreus at almost any point in the game and find this Easter egg there. In fact, you can find it as soon as you start the game.
There are four runes around the walls of the house that, when put together, spell out the name “Loki”, otherwise known as Kratos and Faye’s son Atreus as revealed at the end of God of War. Sony Santa Monica’s tweet acknowledged this hidden spoiler by noting that fans found the first secrets for the game at E3 2016 and two years later, they have “figured out the final one… #FayeKnew.”
This official confirmation from the God of War developer hints that Kratos’ wife Faye knew all along that Atreus was or would become Loki.
