The God of War Audiobook Will Be Narrated by Mimir

Around three weeks ago, the upcoming God of War novelization became available for pre-order. The novel is an adaptation of the story of the latest game, written by none other than J.M. Barlog; a professional novelist, and father of Cory Barlog, the game’s director. Now, it has been announced that the God of War audiobook version will be narrated by Mimir himself.

The Novelization and God of War Audiobook

Cory Barlog made the announcement earlier today via Twitter, appearing with Allistair Duncan; Mimir’s voice actor. He shared the news that Duncan will be narrating the God of War audiobook, as well as a clip of the upcoming recording.

Titan Books, the publisher releasing the God of War novelization, describes the book compares it to the core themes of the game; His vengeance against the Gods of Olympus years behind him, Kratos now lives as a man in the realm of Norse gods and monsters. It is in this harsh, unforgiving world that he must fight to survive… and teach his son to do the same. This startling re-imagining of God of War deconstructs the core elements that defined the series – satisfying combat; breathtaking scale; and a powerful narrative – and fuses them anew.”

The Voice Actor for Mimir Will Narrate the God of War Audiobook

The 352-page novel adapts God of War’s latest game into prose fiction in full. Both the novel and the accompanying God of War audiobook will release on the 28th of August; next week. J.M. Barlog, Cory Barlog’s father, has been a novelist for many years. He is primarily known for his work in the suspense and mystery genres, but has taken to fantasy for this new adaptation. Allistair Duncan seems the perfect choice to narrate the tale, given Mimir’s role as a storyteller in God of War. Anybody familiar with the game should also be familiar with his tales, related as Kratos and Atreus paddle across the Lake of Nine or traverse the various realms.
