The Sixth Gwent Open Tournament Begins Tomorrow

Two months after the end of the last Gwent Open tournament, the sixth tournament is due to start tomorrow. The Gwent Open #6 will run over the course of the weekend, as eight of the best players compete for a $25,000 prize pool. The tournament is due to be streamed on multiple platforms, and CD Projekt Red plans to show off some of the game’s upcoming content as well.

The Sixth Gwent Open Tournament

Each of the Gwent Open tournaments has offered the same prize pool; $25,000. The fifth tournament was won in May by player AndyWand. This time around, a new eight players are set to compete in the event. The tournament will run over the course of this weekend; from July 21st to the 22nd. Broadcasts are due to start at 4 PM CEST. This time, the tournament’s competitors feature three Polish Gwent players; kacper322. konsiu95, and Molegion. They are joined by two German players; Damorquis and kolemeon, as well as House_of_cards, LpHanachan, and proNEO3001, from Russia, China, and Ukraine respectively. The competitors will also be rewarded with Crown Points, and a coveted spot in the next Gwent Challenger tournament.

The tournament will be hosted by ImpetuousPanda, McBeard, and MegaMogwai; all returning to the position. Those three will also be joined by Jaggerous, a new addition.

The Gwent Open Tournament is Overseen by Four Casters

The sixth tournament will be live-streamed on both Twitch and YouTube. CD Projekt Red is also offering a new selection of Twitch drops for viewers on Twitch. This includes the “Winner’s Favorite Card Award”, which can only be earned once. This drop is awarded to viewers who watch the final best of five during the Open. In addition to the normal events of the Open, CD Projekt Red has also revealed that they will be showing off content from the upcoming Project Homecoming; a major revision of the Gwent card game which will include the game’s long-awaited story mode. That content will be revealed to fans before the Open’s Final.
