Hassan Whiteside joins 2KTV Episode 14 to talk NBA 2K20

After spending his first two seasons in Sacramento, Hassan Whiteside became the starting center for the Miami Heat. During his time playing under Erik Spoelstra, he went on to achieve a rebounding title and a blocks title. Eventually, the Heat decided to move on from Whiteside and now he’s joined the Blazers.

Since then, he’s averaging 2019-20 stats better than his career averages with 15.4 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game. Whiteside just recent tallied a career-high in terms of dishing the ball. Even his free throw percentage has already improved to 74.7 percent this season after a career average of just over 60 percent.

The new Blazers big man sat down with NBA 2KTV’s Alexis Morgan as part of the 2K20 pre-launch party a few months ago. It was before his new NBA season started in Portland, but Whiteside said he was excited to join the Blazers and felt his 2K20 rating could get to an 89 or 90. Just recently, he was amongst the big movers in the Dec. 6 ratings update.

As far as the mode he plays most, Whiteside says he plays a lot of Park in 2K20. The Blazers center says he has a 6-foot-10 MyPlayer with a 92 rating that’s a “Giannis type.” He told Alexis he’ll get his real NBA 2K20 player to a 92 OVR by next year. He’s got another eight points to go from here.
