Ubisoft sets a new weekly live event for Far Cry 5 every Tuesday, and the latest one has now gone live. The Far Cry 5 Heartbreaker event replaces last week’s “Punchline“, which required players to get unarmed kills in the game. This week’s challenge doesn’t require you to kill, however. Instead, you’ll need to order your animal companions to kill on your behalf.
The Far Cry 5 Heartbreaker Live Event
The Far Cry 5 weekly live events follow a relatively simple formula. Each week, Ubisoft sets a challenge for players to complete, usually several times. If players can complete the challenge a certain number of times, they unlock a reward, and if they reach a second threshold of completions, they’ll unlock a unique event reward. Meanwhile, Ubisoft tracks the progress of the entire Far Cry 5 community. If the community as a whole manages to complete the challenge a certain number of times then everyone involved also unlocks a special community reward.
This week’s Heartbreaker event tasks players with using Far Cry 5’s “Fangs for Hire”; either Cheeseburger or Peaches. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to use Boomer for this one. You must order your animal companion to kill enemy wild animals. When they’ve been slain, simply collect the dead animal’s heart from its corpse. If you can collect four hearts, you’ll earn 100 XP and 50 Silver Bars. Collect 8, however, and you’ll get another 100 XP and the unique P08 “Pastel Power” sidearm; this week’s event reward.
If the Far Cry 5 community can collect a total of 125,000 animal hearts, everyone involved will be rewarded with 100 XP and 50 Silver Bars. If the community can reach a total of 250,000, then the reward is a further 100 XP and the Heartbreaker Shirt. This unique “special outfit” is a torso clothing option which can be worn by both male and female characters.
