Here’s How to Pull Off an Anthem Combo Using Abilities

Oddly enough, one of the most important things in Anthem isn’t explained to players directly. That, of course, is an Anthem combo. Combos are a massive part of what makes up the combat and not knowing how to do one will set you back, especially in the endgame when you’re trying to get better Masterwork gear. Thankfully, that’s where we come in.

In this guide for Anthem, we are going to let you know everything you need to know about pulling off an Anthem combo. We are going to teach you how to do it and also how you go about further customizing it to your liking. This is especially important for players who main the Storm Javelin class, as combos are integral to correctly use that class.

How to Do an Anthem Combo

Anthem combo

In our opinion, Anthem is an ability first sort of game where guns come second. This is true for most but not all of the four Javelin classes. This is contrary to other online games like Destiny where your weapon is your main source of power. In fact, if you’re anything like us as a Storm, you can basically go the whole mission without using any of your weapons.

The game is centered around the Anthem combo system. You have primers that act as if you are setting a dormant bomb and then detonators that make the bomb go off. Mass Effect fans may recognize this system. How you tell the difference is by heading to the Forge and look at your abilities.

Abilities that are primers will have a symbol next to their name that looks like a circle with another circle inside it. A detonator ability will have a four-sided star sort of symbol that resembles an explosion. You can set up Anthem combos yourself or you can work together with teammates to do so.
