Hitman 2: How to Complete All Hawk’s Bay Assassination Challenges

The Hawk’s Bay destination in Hitman 2 acts as an introductory mission of sorts. The mission is meant to ease new players into the experience, and thus isn’t as intricate as the other locations. In this guide, we’ll provide a rundown of how to complete all of the Hawk’s Bay assassination challenges. Obviously you won’t be able to complete all the challenges in a single playthrough. However, with this guide completing them all should still be a relatively quick process.

There are so many ways to kill Alma Reynard in Hitman 2's Hawk's Bay location.

Reaching Alma Reynard’s Office

For the sake of convenience, you should create a manual save point in Alma Reynard’s office. After you complete each assassination challenge, you can quickly reload back to this save point to attempt another challenge. When you finally complete the mission, you’ll get credit for all the challenges you completed.

Before you create the save point, head into the secret control room and disable the camera system. Then, grab the flash drive and lockpick on the counter, and the fragmentation grenades off the wall armory. One last step, head into the bathroom and open the locked cabinet with the lockpick. You’ll find a marijuana joint and a bottle of poison pills, both of which you should take.

When you’re ready to begin, save your game and then use the computer to trigger Alma’s arrival.

Smells Like Nail Polish & Like Fish in a Barrel

Once Alma and her crew arrive, move over to the locked double door to the south, but don’t open it. Use Instinct to see the three guards behind the door and wait until they start walking away. Open the door and creep behind the guards until you can move around the corner to the right. You’ll find a staircase leading up to the roof. Avoid the guard on the roof and move over to the left, staying behind the low barrier.

Toss a fragmentation grenade to trigger the panic protocol and Alma will rush into her panic room. On the southwestern corner of the roof is the air filtration system. The system should be very close to your current position, look for a large rectangular fan system. Towards the back of the system are the air tanks, and you can insert the lethal poison into those tanks. Wait until Alma is in the panic room, insert the poison, and you’ll complete two challenges at once. Both the ‘Smells Like Nail Polish’ and ‘Like Fish in a Barrel’ challenges should trigger.

Sugar, Honey, Honey

This challenge is a little annoying since there’s a random luck component involved. Basically, you use the poison pills you grabbed from the cabinet to poison Alma’s tea ingredients. However, there are two ingredients to poison: honey or sugar.

You only have enough poison for one, and when asked, Alma will request one or the other, not both. If Alma picks the ingredient you didn’t poison, you’ll have to save and reload. Of course, if you unlocked a lethal poison item from another mission, you can bring it along to ensure success. Alma will drink the tea and die of poisoning, triggering the ‘Sugar, Honey, Honey’ challenge.

A Clean Kill

Similar to Sugar, Honey, Honey, this challenge requires a little waiting, but it’s otherwise pretty straightforward. After Alma arrives, sneak into the bathroom and crouch behind the large tub. Then, just wait until Alma and her boyfriend Orson are getting ready for bed. Orson will get into the shower while Alma is brushing her teeth.

Wait until the heat from the shower steams up the mirrors. Then, sneak up behind Alma and dispatch her with your preferred method (might we suggest the katana from the armory?). Doing so will earn you the ‘A Clean Kill’ challenge.

Sleep Tight

Start by following the same path as the A Clean Kill challenge. However, instead of killing Alma in the bathroom, wait until she and Orson get into bed and go to sleep. Then, approach Alma, making sure to avoid the squeaky toy on the floor, and “interact” with her. Agent 47 will smother her with a pillow, fulfilling the criteria for the ‘Sleep Tight’ challenge.
