Hitman 2’s redacted challenges are unique among the challenge categories. True to their name, the completion criteria for redacted challenges are, well, redacted. This leaves it up to the player to figure out the challenge’s criteria and complete it. If you’d rather skip all the guesswork though, we’ve got you covered. In this guide, we’ll show you how to complete the ‘Mr. Tambourine’ redacted challenge for Hitman 2’s Miami location.
Hitman 2 Mr. Tambourine Walkthrough Setup
The setup for completing the Mr. Tambourine challenge is pretty basic. You can use the default Miami loadout, no need to unlock any special items. If you’ve unlocked the Dolphin Fountain starting location, you can go ahead and use it. The default starting location works as well, but Dolphin Fountain can save you a little time.
What you want to do is locate the titular Mr. Tambourine Man who’s found in a nearby walkway tunnel. If you start at Dolphin Fountain, the tunnel is to the northeast. If you begin the mission at the default starting point, the tunnel is immediately to your left. Starting at Dolphin Fountain helps a bit with proper NPC timing, but the default point should work as well. Either way, Mr. Tambourine Man is pretty easy to spot with his distinct outfit and makeshift drum set.
Completing the Mr. Tambourine Challenge
To complete the challenge, you have to “become” Mr. Tambourine man. In this case, that means both taking his disguise and blending in by playing his drum set. However, Mr. Tambourine Man won’t just hand his outfit over, you have to find some way of incapacitating him.
Now, the quickest and most efficient way of incapacitating Mr. Tambourine Man is to simply shoot him. The tunnel is surprisingly free of foot traffic so there should be no witnesses. However, if you’re approaching from Dolphin Fountain, there might be one other NPC walking down the stairs. You can shoot him too if you want, you’ll get dinged for killing non-targets but that doesn’t really matter.
What you want to do is ensure there are no witnesses. If someone sees you incapacitating Mr. Tambourine Man, you can’t use his drum set to blend in. Whether you kill him or knock him out, drag Mr. Tambourine Man’s body away from the drum set. Sit down at the drum set to blend in and you’ll trigger the Mr. Tambourine Man challenge.
