Hitman 2’s 2.13 Game Update Includes New Winter-Themed Content

Io Interactive has released a substantial new game update for Hitman 2 which brings the game’s version up to 2.13. Not only that, but the update also includes new winter-themed content including a Winter Sports Pack and Snow Festival mission. Rounding out the update is a series of bug fixes which address the game’s more pertinent technical issues.

Hitman 2 2.13 Game Update Details

Io announced the Hitman 2 2.13 update via this post on its website. The update’s release came as a surprise to Hitman 2 fans since it wasn’t listed on the game’s January roadmap. The two major highlights of the 2.13 update are the Winter Sports Pack and Snow Festival mission.

Hitman 2 Winter Sports Pack

The Winter Sports Pack is exclusive to owners of the Hitman 2 Expansion Pass. The pack, which unlocks at midnight tonight (January 22), unlocks five winter-themed items:

  • Winter Sports Suit – A stylish skiing outfit for Agent 47 which includes gloves, goggles, and a hip canteen.
  • Piton – A sharp climbing spike which doubles as a lethal melee weapon in a pinch.
  • Snowball – A non-lethal ranged distraction tool.
  • Quickdraw – A piece of climbing gear which also serves as a handy fiber wire replacement.
  • Arctic Tool Box – A red hard-case toolbox which can be used to hide illegal items.

Hitman 2 Snow Festival Mission

The Snow Festival mission, meanwhile, is a unique new mission set in the Hokkaido legacy location. Players must assassinate a former gunrunner who seeks to profit off the deaths of his fireworks factory employees. Successfully completing the Snow Festival mission unlocks a permanent Snow Festival suit for Agent 47. The mission also includes six mission-specific challenges and completing all of them unlocks a unique Ice Pick melee weapon.

Sadly, the Snow Festival mission is only available until February 12. However, to ensure everyone can attempt the mission, Io is unlocking the Hokkaido location for all Hitman 2 players. Those who don’t own Hitman 2’s legacy pack will lose access to Hokkaido once the Snow Festival mission wraps up. However, any progress made during the free period carries over should the players then purchase the Legacy Pack.
