Horns of Veithurgard: Where to Find all of God of War’s Horn Collectibles
God of War is a game that is filled with collectibles. Moreover, the game’s many collectible sets are definitely worth putting time into completing; not only do they offer substantial XP rewards, but in most cases the collectibles can be sold to vendors afterwards. The Horns of Veithurgard are one such set, and one that ties in nicely if you’re setting out to complete the “Hammer Fall” Favor.
As you travel the Lake of Nine, during the course of the Hammer Fall Favor, you will open the Veithurgard Gates. This provides you access to a hidden area called Veithurgard, wherein you will bring down an emerald statue of Thor. Along the way, you can also explore the region and find a collectible set called the Horns of Veithurgard. For each of the five horns that you find, you will receive an XP reward. This will be followed by a larger boost for completing the set. As with other sets, the horns can also be sold to Brok or Sindri for a lump sum of hacksilver.
Finding the Horns of Veithurgard
Once you pass through the Veithurgard Gates, you will leave Stone Falls and enter the region of Veithurgard proper. To find the first horn, head left from the first beach in Veithurgard. There should be a dock nearby, and you can find the horn at the end of it. If you turn right and go to the other end of the beacj, you will find a chain. That chain allows you to open a gate around the corner to the left of it. Pass through the gate and then climb up to the topmost area of the cliff above. Follow the path back along the beach, and when you reach the first drop, smash the boards that you’ll find. The second horn should be in the area behind the planks.
The third horn is a bit further off. When you arrive at Veithurgard castle, you should find three shrines which will allow you to free the imprisoned dragon Otr. Look for the second shrine. When you destroy it during the course of freeing Otr and head for the third, you will find some rocks that can be destroyed with a nearby fire pot, in front of the fortress doors. The third horn is to be found behind the rocks.
On your way back to the central altar where you will free Otr, the fourth horn can be found. It is located beside a corpse that can be found behind some crates to the left. On the left-hand side of the altar is a waterfall, and the crates should be close to that. The fifth and final horn is inside the castle. After you drain the water, the horn can be found at the bottom of the now-empty channel.
