How the Call of Duty: Mobile Classes Work – The Defender

While Call of Duty: Mobile blends elements from both the Black Ops and Modern Warfare branches of the series, it also includes plenty of original content. One of the areas where this is most apparent is in the roster of Call of Duty: Mobile classes. With strange additions like the Clown, it’s easy to see why this roster stands apart from other games. However, it does have some more traditional class designs, including the Defender; a class which, as the name implies, suits a more static and fortified style of play.

Call of Duty: Mobile Classes – The Defender (Abilities)

Among the six Call of Duty: Mobile classes, the Defender stands out as being one of the clearest in its role. Defenders are, quite simply, defensive. Not only can they absorb more damage before dying, but they can deploy protective barriers to shield themselves and allies from incoming fire. The Defender’s first class ability is Reinforced. This ability reduces the amount of damage you take from all non-ballistic sources. While you’ll still take as much damage as normal from firearms, you will be more resistant to explosions and melee attacks of all kinds.

While Reinforced will make you a bit more durable throughout a match, the Transform Shield ability is a more important source of protection. “The cornerstone of the Defender’s loadout is the Transform Shield,” explains Activision; “a portable barrier that blocks bullets. Consider this as a piece of cover in unconventional places. Whether you need a bit more protection while hiding behind a ledge, or a place to hide in the middle of a street or a wide-open field, the Transform Shield is meant to proect you from enemies charging at you with a ballistics barrage.”

While you can’t use the Transform Shield totally freely, you can generally use it a handful of different times during a match. As such, it’s best used when the fighting is at its thickest, or to give you cover when you need to escape a firefight that’s not going your way.
