Detroit: Become Human released almost two weeks ago, and is already selling very well. If you are considering picking up the new sci-fi title from Quantic Dream, you may wish to know how long getting through the game will take you. As a game that strongly emphasizes narrative, the game certainly doesn’t take as long as recent open-world releases like God of War. However, thanks to Detroit’s hugely-branching storylines, the game is eminently re-playable.
One or More Play-Throughs?
To follow one play-through of Detroit: Become Human, and experience one of the game’s permutable storylines, should take you around ten hours. Of course, this time does vary depending on which story options you choose and how much time you devote to exploration. As is the case with most games, that figure rises dramatically the more optional side-content you choose to explore. However, that single play-through will only show you one possible set of endings. Detroit features numerous different sequences of events and endings, so truly “completing” the game will likely require several plays through. If you don’t fancy completely restarting, Detroit’s flowchart system does allow you to return to previous events and make different choices.
Detroit: Become Human contains thirty-two chapters in total. However, these chapters are not all linear, and some only feature after you make certain choices. As such, you are unlikely to experience them all in a single play-through. In general, between two and four play-throughs of Detroit: Become Human should allow you to experience all of the game, although a lot depends on the choices you make each time.
