Thanos is coming back to Fortnite Battle Royale! This time, however, the popular Marvel character will be added to the game as a skin. Previously, players could see him only in limited-time game modes with Marvel collaborations.
Fortnite players will be able to obtain the Thanos skin for free on June 21. After that, the Mad Titan will be released to the Item Shop for everyone to purchase. Beside the skin (outfit), Epic Games will also release a spray and a back bling that will look like the Infinity Gauntlet.
Fortnite Thanos skin will be free for most successful players
The Thanos Cup will start on June 21 and it will be in Duos game mode. Players will compete in this cup for a chance to win the Thanos outfit and the other cosmetic items. In total, more than 10,000 players will receive the outfit by ranking high in the cup.
Keep in mind, survival is a key to scoring as many points as possible. Getting a victory will reward players with 42 points, while each elimination will be worth a single point.
Top 3,375 teams from Europe region will receive the Fortnite Thanos skin and the back bling. When it comes to NA-East and NA-West, top 1,575 and top 600 teams will be given these cosmetic items respectively. Players who compete in Brazil region will have to rank in top 1,050 in order to qualify for the reward, while Asian region players will have to rank in top 375. Finally, top 300 players from the Middle East region and top 225 players from Oceania will also get the rewards.
Each player who scores at least eight points will receive the exclusive Thanos spray. Considering that players will have three hours and up to 10 games to play in the cup, getting the spray should be easy.
To compete in the cup, players are required to be at level 30 at least (account level) and to have two-factor authentication enabled on their accounts. Epic Games may take a few days to give out rewards to all eligible players, so if you qualify for them, do not worry if you don’t get them immediately.
The Item Shop Thanos skin
Fortnite players who do not rank high enough in the cup will be able to purchase the Thanos skin in the Item Shop. The outfit will be released on Saturday, June 26, at 8 pm Eastern Time.
The back bling will also be released to the Item Shop. However, it appears that the spray will be exclusive to the cup.
